Some impressions from medieval #Ladenburg: 1. City walls, gate and towers (12th/13th c.), 2. remains of the Carolingian church w. figural details wedged between the 12th-c. tower and later church (Sebastianskapelle). Unfortunately, I couldn't visit the 11th-c. crypt inside the church of St. Gall.

It's my favourite time of the semester again: Today I visited the University Library w. my Lampert of Hersfeld class to look at two original charters from the 11th c. issued by the archbishop of Mainz (1043) and the abbot of St. Maximin in Trier (c. 1047), respectively. Charterrific!
