Yesterday's news about Jacob Geller broke my heart, so much that I couldn't stop dwelling on it all day. In an effort to make sense of this horrific news and my admittedly complicated feelings about it, here is my article on the Jacob Geller situation: epiloguegaming.com/what-do-we-d...

What Do We Do With Jacob Geller? - Epilogue Gaming

Earlier this week, a friend noticed Jacob Geller’s book, How A Game Lives, sitting amongst my living room shelves. Under almost any other circumstances, this would have been an exciting invitation for...

A HUGE thank you to @crashsune.bsky.social for your wonderful tutorial series on YouTube! It really demystified a lot of the overwhelming thoughts I had about Blender, and I couldn’t have brought my idea to life without it!

Made my first ever low-poly 3D character this weekend!

My latest #GraphicDesign obsession is the Swiss passport It’s almost jarringly modern while not compromising on its security features and cultural identity I love that they anchored the design around the country’s topology & waterways, and used a color palette to perfectly accentuate that 10/10

Day 4 Today, I learned you can combine meshes inside a folder and merge the vertices to create more complex meshes. Also manually shading the sides on top of the built-in lighting toggle really improved the contrast with the lighter colored textures. I think it turned out great! #PicoCad2

This is Nupsu’s character I referenced

Day 3 - I was a bit fatigued from work so instead of creating a character from scratch, I tried recreating the head of a character one of my favorite low poly artists made. The proportions are way off, BUT I’m starting to think about how textures stretch across faces with different angles #PicoCad2

Ended up creating the perfect judgmental face last night while 3D modeling

Day 2 of learning 3D modeling w/ #PicoCad2 Yesterday, vertices/faces weren’t lining up, and it looked like I carved it out of stone with a jackhammer. Now it's closer to a pseudo-Dreamcast asset Tonight, I’ll be working on smoother edges, character creation & trying to animate individual meshes!

Luffert @leadbellyluffy.bsky.social · 21/07/2026

I ended the night trying more complex shapes (and failing at making a shirt lol), but it’s starting to turn those gears in my head on how a complex shape is formed from simpler base blocks

000

Luffert @leadbellyluffy.bsky.social · 21/07/2026

Instead of starting with a complex sculpt, I wanted my first creation to be more focused on texture mapping. My thinking is that seeing a fully fleshed out creation, no matter how simple, would give me more energy to fuel my learning process to try more complex things

First time 3D modeling went well I think! Immediately feeling the limitations of #PicoCad2 which I think is actually a good thing. I’m recognizing what I need to achieve the vision in my head in a practical sense, and what to look for when I make the transition to using Blender
