Pride is about acceptance, safety, love, and breaking down barriers that exclude or marginalize people based on their identity! Whilst everyone is different and not everyone shares the same values or beliefs, promoting hate is unequivocally wrong! 🏳️‍🌈❤️ #pride #LGBTQA+ #positive #lovenothate

Its articles and newspapers like this what cause more damage then people realise. I spend most of my time working with patients and their families explaining the neurodiversity is not a bad or something is wrong with them, its a different way of looking at things #differentisgood #neurodiverse

Most healthcare workers have protected time in their job plans allowing them to be involved in education, research and/or training but the majority of the nursing workforce do not get this! In order to maintain nursing competence every nurse should have protected professional time #rcn26

Any prescribed medication should be backed by peer reviewed evidence based that is current and appropriate. Their is a fine line between recreational use and medicinal use, and the benefits should outweigh the risks after appropriate physical and mental health assessment #rcn26

@mannersofmarple.bsky.social Looking forward to hear discussion around the prescribing of medicinal cannabis! This is not to discuss whether we agree with cannabis being prescribed and what conditions it can help, but about the ways which prescribers are not using peer reviewed evidence #rcn26

For or against 35 hour working weeks? That is the question and looking forward to an interesting debate hearing both for and against. This is not a clear choice as the nursing workforce are across different sectors, specialisms and age ranges that work 24/7 365 days for our patients #rcn26 #rcn #nhs

Final day of congress starting with something that can actually save and extend lives of people with serious mental illness and/or learning disabilities by having appropriate health checks within care settings! 31.3% of England take up their annual health checks! But what about the 68.7%? #rcn26

When the nursing workforce are sleeping in their cars after a shift just because they cannot afford the travel costs to go home and return back early for their shift tomorrow. They are keeping patients safe and having to rely on unreliable and inaccesible public transport after long shifts! #rcn26

Another postcode lottery where people towards the end of their life are facing incosistent access to specialist care. Every patient deserves to receive the best care at the end of the life and not being 'left alone and forgotten' #rcn26 #rcn

Pain is a complex multidimensional condition that can affect anyone at anytime. Patients can live with constant pain that have often exhausted prescribed medications, with a postcode lottery for appropriate psychological support. We need better access to specialist pain services everywhere #RCN26

Are external reviews meaningful? Every pound spent on the reviews that do not create meaningful change is a pound taken from paitients, services and healthcare professional. We need to be proactive not reactive in healthcare. We need to act before harm occurs! @alisonleary1.bsky.social #rcn26

Misinformation within healthcare is a prevalent issue impacting all patients! As nurses we should be supporting patients and their families to make informed decisions on their care, and not relying on methods coming from sources that have no supporting evidence! @mannersofmarple.bsky.social #RCN26

When I hear someone is a 'internationally educated nurse' I think about what they bring to services from their experience all the way to sharing their culture and identity! We are all nurses regardless of where we studied but we also all individuals. Please treat every nurse as a person #RCN25

Is nursing regulation fit for practise? In my personal opinion I don't think it is. Reports have highlighted racism, discrimination, poor practice when performing fitness to practice investigations and double standards between registered nurses and persistent unfounded malicious complaints

Powerful discussion around health inequalities and how nursing staff can help tackle health inequalities. From birth to death, through physical and mental health symptoms, many people often feel more barriers to access the right consultations, diagnosis and treatment due these inequalities.

#RCN25 The RCN congress unanimously vote that the UK government including Crown Dependencies need to take urgent action to invest in social care! Social care should not be a postcode lottery and by not investing now it will overload and increase spending on a already broken system!!
