In conversation with @laythco.bsky.social, Dr. @yipengge.bsky.social exposes Israel’s “choreography of destruction,” a campaign that besieges and empties Gaza’s hospitals, turns them to rubble, and targets the doctors who keep them alive. 🔗 Read here: www.palestine-studies.org/en/node/1657...

1/ Ghada Majadli examines how Israel’s systematic targeting of Gaza’s healthcare system has led to mass injuries and amputations, turning disability into a deliberate weapon of war. This policy paper details the genocidal logic behind Gaza’s health crisis.🧵

Few people have asked so I'll answer here: MEI got rid of a number of programs including its Palestine one and fired very good researchers. They also got rid of their non resident affiliates across the board. The latest news is theyre promoting military & ambassador affiliates. /1

This email, a year ago, from Fetterman’s former chief of staff, and this entire piece from Ben Terris, makes clear that Fetterman should not be serving in the Senate. Every Senate Democrat should read this and be asked about it - especially Schumer. nymag.com/intelligence...

who needs cops when you have the neighborhood decolonization scholar doing the job for you. do they teach counterinsurgency 101 in provost training or ethnic studies faculty orientation because this is textbook. nasty work. students and colleagues are NOT safe
@Theia Chatelle
Document I obtained from University of California San Diego shows K. Wayne Yang, co-author of "Decolonization is Not a Metaphor" writing in a faculty email,

"The more the students understand that UCPD can serve their safety interests, the better."

screenshot of document:

Colleagues,

Here's word from K. Wayne Yang this AM:
Hi Bob,

I've been consulting with as many people as possible, and I have a couple of thoughts:
1. Parlay about safety. I think bringing together 2 or 3 student leaders, 1-2 faculty, and 2 admin to parlay simply about the shared interest of safety for student protestors would be a good start. It helps identify leaders for potential talks later. It may also dispel some paranoia. The more the students understand that UCPD can serve their safety interests, the better. This seems especially important going into the weekend when campus affiliates might come to campus. The goal is to identify shared safety interests and start being transparent about aspects of each others safety plans. I would recommend then turning this into a daily safety parlay/checkin.

2. There are some examples now of encampments striking an agreement and coming down at Brown and Northwestern. I'm sure the students are thinking about these agreements and whether or not they are adequate for them. Those conversations can become polarizing among the student organizers themselves. Right now they are in a bit of a scary vacuum, and can only assume the worst, which will affect their willingness to come to an agreement. With mundane structures of checkin/parlay, this will open new possibilities for the organizers to compromise.

Thank you for listening

Wayne

New — ICE will release the mother and children they shackled and unlawfully abducted from Sackets Harbor, NY in late March after relentless pressure from the town. I write how the incredible outcome of this horrifying story should give fuel us to fight back: www.thehandbasket.co/p/sackets-ha...
The people of Sackets Harbor—and especially the school administrators and teachers—should serve as an example for us all that resistance can work. You do not need to comply in advance. The Trump administration is powerful, but not invincible.

This story is a reminder to journalists that reporting on things happening in the smallest places can have the largest impact. My hats off to the local journalists who first made noise about this miscarriage of justice. I feel fortunate that I could help amplify it, and that we can celebrate this small but powerful victory.

And we can rest a little easier knowing the third grader will finally get to see the welcome home banner hung by classmates with love.
