My own opinion here but hbox could have taken five minutes to check in with any P+ or brawlback dev, and at present I don't believe he did. The brawl modding is too tight to let junk infiltrate it at the highest level.

I always cringe when randos complain about the monetization, in spite of its fairness. Here we are getting 4 free characters a year. Next year will have more characters than Rivals 1.

I've modded Brawl 10+ years, and could probably do another 10 years for everything I want to make. But yeah, sometimes I'd rather chill with some games, or a show. I learned a valuable lesson long ago that I need to be the first audience for most of my mods. I try to keep it in mind.

Modding for a niche community can be brutal at times. I've spent entire vacations locking in and finishing things I'm incredibly proud of, then seeing others ask why the increasingly smaller pool of talent isn't spending 40 hours weeks perfecting a videogame mod.

Something that bugs me to no end is Nintendo die-hards who turn their noses at indies inspired by Nintendo games. I love the big N too, but I do miss certain game genres. Indie devs I appreciate you making the games you miss, bless you all.

I'm never thrilled when NSFW mods are always the "Most Popular", but to see the reverse is quite a trip. This is another great reason I hate the "wholesome" category being misinterpreted as a game that cannot challenge or present something uncomfortable in any capacity.

They are both great, though I prefer R2. R1 has tons of workshop content + charming pixel art. Some enjoy the lack of shields, ledges, and grabs for the high speed gameplay. R2 has those missing mechanics, and more with items, better casual stages, and what more people expect from a plat fighter.

I think Rivals 2 will be fine with the gameplay modifiers they'll just be a fun thing to try out, P+ survived this screen, along with locals with random stage layouts because you can just go and make your own custom stages

Whenever I hear people complain that Mina is a hard game, I have to wonder if they are making it harder on themselves. Aside from the modifiers, it's not too hard to go back to a familiar area and grind up a level or two, which can make a huge difference on roadblocks.

I saw this back in the day on a console fighting game with unlockable characters. Dude was ride or die on the starting roster only. Even got mad if someone unlocked the character on their console, and made them erase the save data.
