(1/6) 🧵 Best Radiants & their Users by @metatft.bsky.social #TFT #S18 1. Thieves Gloves - Kennen, Elder Dragon, Brambleback & Gnar - Item heavy comps w/ multiple carries (Aph+Nid, Malphite Flex, Ahri Morg( - Fast 9 comps w/ many 5-costs - 3-cost RR eg Kha’Zix and Azir - The ‘Radiantize’ Wisp
1. Thieves Gloves

There’s no surprise here, Radiant Gloves is quite often the strongest radiant item in any set and in set 18 there are many relevant users like Kennen, Elder Dragon, Brambleback and Gnar.

Compositions are also item heavy due to having multiple carries like Aphelios + Nidalee, Malphite AP/AD Flex and Ahri Morgana.

In Fast 9 comps like executioner Draven, having a TG is almost mandatory due to the sheer amount of 5-costs you play and even 3-cost reroll comps like Kha’Zix and Azir benefit from having a TG.

Finally the ‘Radiantize’ wisp transforms a random item into a Radiant one after 8 seconds, in this case hitting a TG is definitely the strongest outcome and would boost Radiant TG’s stats if that was your last fight.

Official 18.3 C-Patch update by Tim/Truexy #TFT #S18 tl;dr Deploying a patch that disables Major Polymorph for the rest of 18.3 (you may need to relog to get it). Will re-enable it in 18.4 after a few bugs regarding its tailoring and filtering are fixed.
Hey everyone, we're deploying a patch that disables Major Polymorph for the rest of 18.3 (you may need to relog to get it). We'll re-enable it in 18.4 when we fix a few bugs regarding it's tailoring and filtering.

Polymorph has it's place as a memorable, risky Wisp, but naturally issues occur when it's expected and tailorable, so we're not comfortable leaving it in the game while it's bugged as such.

Today's Competitor Pass general sale and Spectator Pass sale to Vegas Open was a bit of disaster. #TFT #S18 tl;dr Michael Sherman (Director, Esports Product Management) is sorry. There will be one final sale in November with any refunded tickets and any additional capacity they're able to create
Hey folks, on behalf of the TFT and Riftbound teams, I wanted to share a few thoughts on today’s Convergence Fest Attendee Pass General Sale.

With both TFT & Riftbound Communities showing up, we knew demand was going to be much higher than the number of passes we could offer, and we’ve been working on ways to make that experience better for players.

For our Riftbound players, this probably isn’t your first experience with us working through ticketing challenges this year. Over the last year, we’ve moved ticketing platforms multiple times, scaled up our Regional Qualifiers to nearly double the capacity of where we started in Houston, and launched the Showdown Series to create more opportunities for players to compete. For Convergence Fest, Fan First was a new tool, and a big step for us. It was our first time using player activity, such as in-store & online play, to ensure active players got an opportunity to get tickets without having to race through checkout. That worked, allowing us to get thousands of tickets into players’ hands before the General Sale.

But we missed at the last mile today. The execution of the General Sale, an already-limited ticket offer, did not meet the experience we wanted to provide, and to make it worse, the things we said in the moment didn’t match the experience we delivered. We know there are a lot of players who really wanted to be there.
So here’s what we have planned next:

⏭️ We’ll have one final sale in November with any refunded tickets and any additional capacity we’re able to create. We expect this to be a small sale, and we’ll share more details on timing and availability once we have them.

⏭️ We’ve also started a larger effort to explore how we can take more ownership of ticketing and become less reliant on third-party platforms. It’s early, but we know there’s more we can do beyond Fan First to connect players with tickets and make these experiences better. We know General Sale today was frustrating, and we’re sorry we didn’t deliver the experience you deserved.

For everyone who will be in Vegas, I’ll see you there. And if you’re around the Riftbound Regional Qualifier in LA this weekend, I’ll be there this afternoon and all day tomorrow. Please feel free to pull me aside, ask questions, or share your feedback. I’m always happy to chat and listen.

Thank you for all your interest, feedback, and care. We really appreciate you sticking with us and continuing to support our TFT and Riftbound communities.

(1/2) 🧵 An outstanding post by @710wonderdev.bsky.social about TFT QA & what's been going on regarding Unreal Engine migration and how it's had cascading effects going back to Set 15. #TFT #S18 It's well worth your time to read this especially if you've been frustrated by the hiccups in Set 18.
Hello, I wanted to take a moment to share a bit of my craft in QA on TFT (and hopefully educate a little along the way).

This is genuinely one of the tougher parts of game dev, and it’s something I’ve wanted to talk about for a really long time. It just never felt like the right moment. But now that our move to Unreal Engine is finally public, with Set 18 live, I think it’s about time the community got a little insight from me as a QA Lead on TFT. I’m going to start with an example from TFT K.O. Coliseum (Set 15).

I actually wrote a version of this a long time ago and felt it was best to wait. I was worried people might not understand, or not care, or that it’d be met with cruelty. The timing never felt right and a big reason was that our Unreal work simply wasn’t public yet, so much of the story I wanted to tell was tied to it. But I feel really passionate about TFT and I’ve wanted to share a side of this work that doesn’t get talked about often.

Why start with Set 15? Because that’s when we saw a noticeable shift in player perception of quality.Every TFT set brings its own challenges depending on its scope, mechanic complexity, and where we are in development across multiple future sets at once. From a player perspective Set 15 felt buggier than past sets, but the data tells a more nuanced story.

Internally, Set 15 launched with a larger than usual backlog of non-critical issues (roughly double what we’d consider a healthy starting point). These weren’t game-breaking or exploit-level bugs. They were a high number of smaller, low to medium priority issues that compounded over time and contributed to a “buggier feel” overall. Think of it as death by a thousand papercuts. Each small issue adds friction, and collectively it shapes perception.

At the same time, our critical and exploitable bug rates were actually among the lowest we’ve had in years. The majority of major issues were caught pre-launch, and our escape rate (the bugs players find that we didn’t catch before release) was significantly lower than previous sets. So from a raw quality standpoint the game was safer and more stable than it might have felt.Where we fell short was live support capacity. Our live team was much smaller than normal while we spun up other high priority work across the team (the TFT Unreal Engine migration). Fewer engineers, designers, and QA dedicated to live meant we couldn’t burn down the backlog as quickly after launch, and the fix window stretched much longer than any of us wanted.

Another factor was the complexity of Set 15’s mechanic, Power Ups. That feature alone accounted for over a third of our total bugs. Not because it was poorly made, but because its scripting touched nearly every system in the game (even minor adjustments could have ripple effects). And since Power Ups were the mechanic, players naturally noticed any oddities with them more than they might with smaller content pieces.

To put it simply, we had more total bugs at launch, fewer resources for live fixes, and a highly complex mechanic amplifying the visibility of issues. Player perception dipped even though the underlying severity and escape data actually improved. So while the set’s public perception reflected real player pain, it wasn’t a sign of declining quality. It was a reminder that quality is as much about how quickly we can respond and recover as it is about how clean the build is on day one.I want to be clear that every set has its share of issues, that’s just part of live service. But Set 15 is where players really felt it, and I don’t think that’s a coincidence. It lines up almost exactly with when more and more of our team shifted onto the Unreal build.

Which brings me to today with Set 18 and our first real steps on Unreal Engine. This is the first engine migration we’ve ever done on TFT and engine migrations are notoriously difficult. For many of us it’s been one of the hardest projects of our careers.

I want to pull back the curtain a little on what a migration like this actually means, because it’s the part I wish more people got to see. When we built a new set previously, we were testing fresh content on a foundation we already trusted. A migration flips that completely. Everything you already know still has to look, feel, and behave exactly the way it always has, except now every champion, trait, item, animation, and interaction is running on a brand new engine underneath.

18.3 B-Patch isn't expected to flip the current meta Additional info by Truexy #TFT #S18
This will not be a massive balance patch that flips the meta, specifically since it's so early into the patch and because there's relevant competitions. I would say it's primary focus is bugfixes with very expected changes like Kha'Zix. I'd expect most of the top-end to be similar.

Post by Truexy about Patch 18.3 B-Patch #TFT #S18 Expected tomorrow (Thursday) by EOD Please read details regarding Champion Targeting changes
Update on a couple 18.3 things.

As per the official channels, we’re completing a B-patch that includes re-adding the 18.B changes that got excluded, disabling some bugged augments, and catching the meta shifts that are still apparent from late 18.2B. A rough ETA is tomorrow (Thursday) by EOD, and hopefully earlier in the day than later.

There are reasons why this patch was a bit different than the normal cycle, but it’s definitely not up to the quality bar we want for TFT. We’re working to quickly get the balance changes back to where want.

Additionally, there was an intentional revert of Champion Targeting from 18.2. Our goal is complete parity in champion targeting between Set 17/18 and there have been bugs that have altered how melee targets are acquired at the start of combat. An attempted fix to other movement bugs caused unintended effects in 18.2. We’ve reverted that change and are investigating a better way to return parity to targeting.

I appreciate everyone’s patience and feedback.

18.3 B-Patch is in process including nerfing Kha'Zix, Blackthorn and re-implementing previous balance changes that were accidentally reverted #TFT #S18
Heads up, we're working on a B-patch targeting some evolutions in the meta (you can't hide forever Kha'Zix / Blackthorn), as well as re-implementing some balance changes that were inadvertently rolled back from 18.2B (Camille, LeBlanc, Teemo, Ashe, Draven). Apologies for the inconvenience here, especially for players prepping for regionals this weekend. We'll follow up with an ETA for the B-patch when it's more clear.
