If you put people in mandatory quarantine & there’s no new cases it won’t be remembered as being safe over sorry, it’ll take about 30 seconds before the narrative becomes public health over reach & you spawn a new generation of people screaming “I will not comply” at the 1st whiff of novel disease.

If the confirmed count is now 8, does that mean the American who tested positive and then negative twice was considered a false positive? Or someone else’s who was previously counted as confirmed has changed?

Really can’t believe how much time I’m having to take to explain that you can’t actually lock people up just because they were potentially exposed to an infectious disease. Even if you’re scared!

There’s a lot of bad, wrong, social media posts on hantavirus happening right now but the funniest one I’ve seen was a woman who said she had really bad news: while it’d previously been reported the incubation period could be as long as 8 weeks…she learned it could actually be up to 45 days!

Just caught up on the Pitt and I would like to point out Santos said “vaya con dios” to Robby as a “goodbye” which is exactly the last words Johnny Utah spoke to Bode when he paddled out for the last time…

Actually sounds like she’s just blaming immigrants generally, saying hep b status report is very “voluntary”

How these dipshits can keep talking about comparing hep b vertical transmission in countries with universal healthcare to our country is making my nose bleed.

Potentially recommending kids get HBV antibody tests before additional doses is so wild. If parents hate seeing their kids get shots just WAIT until you have to watch a pediatric blood draw….

Extremely clarifying to learn this man is the way he is because he married a woman who believes she can talk to spirits/that trauma victims attract more trauma. Someone investigate what in Floridas water causes wives to channel their ambitions through their puppet husbands.

I will say I do like RFK jr being visibly uncomfortable behind Trump as he riffs absolutely insane health recommendations.

With the (very confusing) ACIP meeting concluding, I’m reminding everyone we have this spreadsheet that I would LOVE help updating (as I assume more state will declare their own rules about COVID access). If your state needs updating and has a public statement please tell me!!!

So…are the recommendations in changed from last year? Do we have no recommendations? Is it every state for themselves?
060
Laurel Bristow @laurelbristow.bsky.social · 19/09/2025
Ok. Robert Malone being a voice of reason regarding what the ACIP legal authority is is…surprising.
180
Laurel Bristow @laurelbristow.bsky.social · 19/09/2025
Ok let’s say they approve this vote…in states that follow ACIP recs but don’t currently require a rx if you fall into the FDA approved groups, are those states going to require a rx now?

Step 1) Pounding the drum of "This vaccine isn't necessary" Step 2) Vaccination rates drop Step 3) "should we give this vaccine if so few people take it?"

Meissner saying vaccine uptake should factor into CDC recommendations is wild because a) many members of the ACIP are directly responsible for low vaccine uptake and b) many Americans don’t get the recommended amount of physical activity. Should we stop recommending physical activity?

Soooo. MMRV is not longer available as a first dose but it’s still covered under VFC….but you can’t get it….but it’s covered?
150
Laurel Bristow @laurelbristow.bsky.social · 18/09/2025
Hey Dr Malone just quick FYI if you’re abstaining because you have a prior legal agreement to testify AGAINST MMRV vaccines that IS actually a conflict of interest.
060
Laurel Bristow @laurelbristow.bsky.social · 18/09/2025
Someone genuinely suggested the language be “MMR and varicella be preferred, otherwise shared decision making” which is what the recommendations currently ARE. These people are a joke.

The language of the Hep B vote: are we assuming these ding dongs are using “testing” the same way we use “screening” (meaning a screening is a HBsAg test for everyone, vs a test being a HBsAg test for symptomatic or high risk people)?

I made a google doc to try and sort of what COVID vaccine access looks like in each state. It’s very confusing and always changing so if you have info on a state and an SOURCE (not an anecdote) please email me! Laurel.r.bristow@gmail.com docs.google.com/spreadsheets...

2025-2026 COVID VACCINE ACCESS

So RFK jrs reasoning for why we should stop using COVID vaccines is BOTH that the virus has mutated to be less dangerous AND that vaccines have caused the virus to mutate to be worse?

The U.S. confirms its first human case of New World screwworm. What is it?
U.S. officials confirmed a case of the flesh-eating parasite in a person who traveled from El Salvador. Screwworm typically affects cattle in South America but has spread north in recent years.

Appreciate his reasoning but rather big of Meissner to think the world will STILL look to ACIP recommendations for guidance after this meeting.

I told myself I wouldn’t listen to the ACIP meetings because I knew it’d make me too mad so instead I’m compulsively reading people’s updates and, unsurprisingly, that’s not making me feel better!!!!

In addition to it being ridiculous to put quotes around “germ theory” what he described in his book is actually “terrain theory.” The man doesn’t do enough research to even properly identify which debunked science he follows.

Really can’t stop thinking about this. “Eligible organizations” are schools that are part of the national school lunch program…so the investigator needs to be “an established investigator” at an elementary school? Or they need to establish a relationship with a local elementary school in <30 days?

Accepting immunologic data for people over 65 and risk groups but demanding RCTs for everyone else really gives off “antivaxers giving performative support of vaccines”
