Hearing people cheer for the destruction of Los Angeles and San Diego is absolutely insane. Also please don’t forget that Tijuana is right on the other side of the border, something taking out San Diego would also take out one of the most densely populated cities in Mexico too.

I went to investigate at Round1 to see if the Project Sekai Nui’s are at their chibi crane machines and I can confirm that I found Nightcord at 25:00 Nuis. A friend found Vivid BAD SQUAD in Arizona. Check your local Round1 if you’re a Project Sekai fan. 👀

I keep being sent videos of Old Navy selling a bunch of clothing in my favorite shade of chartreuse green but I can't even think of sweaters right now when we're about to get hit with another heat wave. Wish me luck because it's going to be 100ºF for the next 4 days!

The Delinquent and the Transfer Student was SO CUTE!!! I’m so happy to have found a feel-good comfort yuri read. Too bad the series is complete with 3 volumes because I want MORE! I also need to see Riri and Atsuko animated.

Note to self: Do not let car decals and stickers sit on your car for 5+ years. Not only will it take an hour to remove everything but then you're stuck with a rancid glue smell.

I read volumes 1-2 of Mars. This is my first time reading the series and I have to say that it was hard to push through at times. The portrayals of suicide and suicidal ideations left me feeling like I couldn’t breathe. This is not the best series to binge read, but the story is fascinating.

I’ve donated blood 5 times so far in 2026 and this week was the first time I saw people my age or younger donate blood. Usually I’m the youngest one among people 60+. I’m happy that there were able to get so many young people interested in donating blood.

People get so damn bitter and mean with the recent Sanrio collabs with the American Red Cross and the LA County Library. I’m just glad a collab like that is getting people to go donate blood and sign up for a library card. The good deed doesn’t get devalued just because of Sanrio.

TikTok launched a “Protect your likeness” feature which is funny. This is the same app where reporting an impersonation account or someone literally stealing your content results in “no violation found.” I don’t really trust them to protect creators at all.

The company did go down but then they started again in the late 2010’s. I’ll give them credit, they did make a big push to bring more BL and yuri/GL series to the English market during the 2020 manga boom. On the publishing side, they were doing well before this $2 million dollar loss.

Whoa I’m logging on to see so many reshares from Brazilian manga fans. 🫪 Hello, I’m a manga fan who really dislikes when CEO’s try to get working people to invest after a business mistake they made. 🧍🏻‍♀️

020

Laura Neuzeth @lauraneuzeth.bsky.social · 16/09/2026

In what world does the Tokyopop CEO think that us readers have the means to invest in a company he cannot run?? Minimum investment is $500 and the platinum owner level requires a $12,500+ investment. I have to double-think which manga I buy a month because of the high cost of everything. 😭

0101

Laura Neuzeth @lauraneuzeth.bsky.social · 16/09/2026

I don't know in what world the CEO thought that this long email would get Tokyopop readers to invest $500 minimum because his jealousy and ego caused a $2 million loss. The email was the most unprofessional thing I've read. I still can't believe it got sent out.

1223

Laura Neuzeth @lauraneuzeth.bsky.social · 16/09/2026

Just finished going through the email sent by Tokyopop. This is by far the weirdest email I've ever seen a company send to consumer. What the hell did I just read?

Magica was truly a work of art! Incredible stories that taught you to appreciate life, nature, and the people around you. Some of the stories had a tragic ending, but it showed how fragile life can be. Hands down one of my favorite reads this whole year. It’s was incredible!

I really need to read something good today because otherwise my weekend reads were just meh (with the exception of Our Dining Table, that was great). Some of the artwork and world building in The Crow’s Ballad at Dawn was beautiful, but the story just didn’t do it for me.

I escaped the heat at a boba shop to read SHWD The Complete Yuri Collection which I checked out from the library. I was happy to see a dark yuri sci-fi with buff women, but the lack of character development and a side character stuck in a child’s body were such big turnoffs. 😖

Took advantage of the Barnes and Noble 25% off pre-order sale but then I found out that Fall In Love, You False Angels vol 6 won't be out until spring of next year. 😭 That volume just came out in Spanish in México. I hate how spread out shoujo releases are.

Yes! I feel the same way. The convention looked so empty from what I saw in videos. I did see a few SD based anime shops and artists skip the convention. At first I found it odd since they tend to travel to OC and LA conventions, but then found out that Anime San Diego had very high vending fees.
