Indeed, @zinnedproject.bsky.social
A group of Philadelphians posted a broadside across the city warning that “overgrown rich men will be improper to be trusted” with drafting a new constitution.

Months later, when Pennsylvania adopted one of the most democratic state constitutions of the Revolutionary era — expanding political participation and limiting elite power — John Adams reacted with alarm, exclaiming, “Good God!”Lemuel Haynes penned the essay “Liberty Further Extended” in response to the Declaration — and to the many enslavers who signed it. He wrote that Black people too “may justly challenge, and [have] an undeniable right” to freedom, so “the practice of slave-keeping . . . is illicit.”

A true general strike in the U.S. is unprecedented in most of our lifetimes. People above the age of 80 may have faint memories of the last round of city-wide general strikes, which took place in 1946. Before that point it was already a rare, historic feat for unions and communities to pull off, and after that point they’ve been non-existent in this country. So today is monumental

grafting human hands to the top of a crab, day 12: we have managed to attach four working hands to the upper carapace. he waves them constantly, testing his new limits
day 57: the crab daps himself up relentlessly, gassed up beyond reason. his aura is too strong, recommending facility self destruct

Did you know that the Lord of the Flies is a story made up by a disturbed Nazi afficionado and depicts the opposite of various real-world cases in which kids have treated each other with great kindness?

Did you know that the Stanford prison experiment was a complete fraud that had originated as a test of the prisoner students’ reactions to the guard students’ sadistic actions which had been carefully directed, and that the thing was later falsely reported as a test of the guard students who were falsely depicted as having engaged in spontaneous cruelty when left to their own devices?

Did you know that the earlier Robbers’ Cave experiment was equally fraudulent and followed an even earlier attempt in which subjects had been insufficiently manipulated and had insisted on being kind to each other — as the good people also were in a later attempt to recreate the Stanford experiment without scripting and directing the cruelty?

Did you know that the Milgram experiment also showed nothing like what is claimed, that only 56% believed the shocks were real, that the majority of those quit and refused to administer the shocks, that those who did believe they were shocking people and continued to do so said they were doing so to help science and to hopefully cure diseases — that only those lines of persuasion worked on them, whereas ordering people to administer the shocks resulted in universal disobedience?

GOP Rep. Mike Flood of Nebraska Angrily Confronted by Crowd During Town Hall www.democracynow.org/2025/8/7/hea...
Audience member: “My question is fiscal. With $450 million FEMA dollars being reallocated to open Alligator Alcatraz, and $600 million taxpayer FEMA dollars being used to now open more concentration camps, and ICE burning through $8.4 million a day to illegally detain people, how much does it cost for fascism? How much do the taxpayers have to pay for a fascist country?”

Helpful and important analysis that centers how AI affects the societal balance of power, & leads us to ask how we can empower ourselves. open.substack.com/pub/newmeans...
"There is one group that doesn’t see this as a problem. The one dangerous minority, billionaires, is excited. Less critical thinking, a technology they can profit from, a more pliant workforce — the ruling class is thrilled. They’re already waging a war on public education in the form of the charter and privatization movement, and the mass adoption of AI probably thrills them for similar reasons. As they assault workers with the steady replacement of positions and duties with AI, they build their vision of a future where labor strength is crushed, mass unemployment prevails, and the jobs that do exist are increasingly menial."

Features the drug Elmiron. Also:
Seventy-three percent of drugs approved by the FDA did not meet the agency’s four foundational standards required to show they work as expected.

More than half of drug approvals were based on preliminary data rather than sound evidence that patients had fewer symptoms, improved function, or lived longer.

Fifty-five of the 429 drugs approved met only one of the four standards needed to show that a drug is safe and effective; 39 drugs met none of them.

Time to reread this interview www.democracynow.org/2021/11/18/d...
Well, it’s interesting and a bit painful to listen to that clip for many reasons, one of which is that we’re going to be on strike again in a few weeks’ time over exactly the same issue. What David is describing there is one of the major things that came out of our research, which is that human beings, for most of the history of our species, have simply been a much more playful and experimental species than we tend to give ourselves credit for, including a propensity to simply invent and experiment with different forms of political arrangements.

Posting again, for no reason. "Exciting new evidence shows we can achieve good living standards for all 8 billion people on the planet with less resources and energy than the global economy currently uses. But such a future requires transitioning to post-capitalist systems."

Republicans trying to kill off their base (still a ghastly example of capitalism prioritizing profit margin over human well-being or just basic ethics it seems)

Tr*mp is deporting his base by terminating Temporary Protected Status for Venezuelans (still a ghastly erosion of rights).
Venezuelan voters in Florida have become critical to Trump's Latino base, who turned out for his town halls and campaign stops in Miami last year. Venezuelans are the fastest growing Latino group in the U.S., and they number in the hundreds of thousands in South Florida. In the majority Venezuelan enclave of Doral, known to locals as "Doralzuela," Trump won upwards of 60 percent of the vote.
