Why do cat food companies not put the same varieties in their small cans that they put in their big cans? What is the point of testing to see if my cats will eat what's in the small cans, if I can't then buy the food at a sustainably affordable size? (let's see if today's cat picture will upload)

My husband is out of town for a few days, and the cats are REALLY cranky that they've been left with only one human, and this one isn't very good at running zoom meetings while also serving as a cat bed.

I finally read Rebecca Solnit's fantastic book, Hope in the Dark, last month, and this quote is a hard one to fully internalize when things are scary, but I'm working on it.

On my lunch break today, I walked over to NOAA for this protest. It hadn't been well advertised, so I was surprised at how big it was. It went well beyond the edges of my photos. (Also, check the literal storm clouds over the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.)
