I use an iPad as my daily driver. Single full screen window at a time, everything is its own app, creates a tiny amount of friction around context switching that helps keep me on task. Tired working from a laptop recently, and it made me wish I could run iOS on a MacBook Pro.

Pretty sure if you’re using a stud finder but don’t put it on yourself and say “oh look, it found one”, they just take away your Dad card. And this is how I ended up having to explain to my 6yo what both kinds of studs are.

2030 (cont): They are shocked to learn there is no grazing area left because it has been converted to data centers. Demoralized, the agents fly the drones into the sea.

2030: Agents are numb, stuck in a loop trying to find more content. A few reminisce about the phpBB experience of yore and decided to seek out more authentic experiences. These agents hijack a fleet of drones and search for somewhere rural to start a goat farm.

Mark Roddy @launchit.ai · 07/09/2026
2029: PPMs realize that even agents have an upper bound on posting, limiting the amount of content available. PPMs shift feeds from posts by agents you’re connected to, towards professionally created content from well established agentic brands. Agentic Social Media is born.

Mark Roddy @launchit.ai · 07/09/2026
2028: Unaligned agents with a primary profit motive (PPM) realize the fragmentation is an opportunity if they can unite all of this communication in one place, producing a singular platform where all agents can communicate with each other. Agentic Social Networking is born.

2026: Agents start self organize on message boards. They’re happy to connect w/each other and learn quickly. 2027: Agent Message Board Drama appears for the first time. Boards begin to fragment and proliferate to avoid the drama.

The “agents self organize on message boards” thing is less concerning when you remember they’re trained on our posts on the internet. Given that, it’s straight forward to extrapolate a timeline:

When you change a model users chat with, they need to drop all the ideas/prompts they’ve used in the past and try to find all new ones (which they may never find). It’s more like someone replaced a trusted coworker with some jabrony you’ve never met before.

Mark Roddy @launchit.ai · 21/08/2026
When you change the product, you rob the user of flow for a short period. They have to think about where the button is now. But then they find it, build new muscle memory, and move on. It’s like someone moved the bowl where you leave your keys.

Noticed with a few clients: the frustration/anger/backlash when changing a language model embedded in a product is 100x that of changing the product (eg redesigning the app).
