On Juneteenth in 1939, when she was 12, a white mob burned down Opal Lee's family home to remind them they were not free. Decades later, in her late 80s, she walked to D.C. to make it a national holiday. She reclaimed freedom for us all, and reminds us it's ours to uphold.
