My sister-in-law is looking out for me.

“So, to be clear, your Amazon list contains both a shovel and a chainsaw 😅 should I warn Jon??!!”

and

“I should get Jon the knives on his list so he can defend himself”

This gift arrived with perfect timing — just after the equinox.

I have been traveling for 11 days, including seven flights through six airports, I don’t remember how many restaurants, shops, and museums, plus a big concert and a state fair. Meanwhile, my wife went to the grocery store and caught covid. Life ain’t fair, y’all.
A home test for COVID-19, flu A, and flu B is negative for all three.

Coexist.
Image of a pile of dice comprised of two sets, one of which is blue, the other frosty-clear. In the foreground sit the d4s: the blue is bottom-read, and the frosty-clear is top-read.

Makes as much sense as any holy war.
Cartoon image of two armies facing off. One has banners with a top-read d4; the other has banners with a bottom-read d4. Caption: “There can be no peace until they renounce their Dice God and accept our Dice God.”

Most mornings coffee is just coffee, but some mornings I need it like a healing potion.

Last night @lisaeh.bsky.social and I went to John Scalzi’s book tour event at Eagle Eye Books. True to his word, @scalzi.com did not murder us! @eagleeyebooks.bsky.social

My remote work setup looks a little different when the temperature drops into the 20s.
A laptop sits on my lap, while my legs (covered in plaid pajamas) are extended onto an ottoman, with a beautiful calico cat sleeping soundly between them. It is rather cozy.

This is the third year we have spent Thanksgiving at my sister’s home, so this is the third year we’ve had dining table nameplates made by the kiddos, and no, I will never get tired of them.
