Too many historians still chasing objectivity, after all the critiques and evidence that this produces highly ideological and biased research. AI is the easy cop out, as in other fields it produces a phony objectivity and allows for the researcher to shirk responsibility for their interpretation.

Overigens waren mijn beide grootvaders ook leerkracht, in het primair onderwijs (later schooldirecteur) en als docent Duits in het secundair onderwijs. Ik kon geloof ik geen kant op. Mijn andere grootmoeder werkte op een kantoor totdat ze trouwde en moeder werd in 1954.

Mijn grootmoeder van vaders kant was leerkracht in het primair onderwijs dus ik vind het wel erg mooi dat ik nu - soortvan - ook in een docentenberoep ben beland. Ze bleef doorwerken nadat haar kinderen waren geboren in de jaren '50!

We hebben daarom de cursus Colonialism & Slavery in World History ontwikkeld. Die staat trouwens ook open voor studenten van andere unis!
