As stated by Mark Twain, “History doesn't repeat itself, but it often rhymes.” This editorial welcomes a new series of articles for the American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology MFM on “obstetrical history.” As an example, the first articles review the history of induction of labor, which is one of the most common, researched, and discussed topics in obstetrics to date, as well as the length of the second stage.1,2 Why “lose time” with history in the era of artificial intelligence, fast social media messages, big data, and machine learning? There are a few reasons.
