Yeah, that’s true. It would be hard to get away with Tris playing the part of a regular academic mage without that worldbuilding, even if what you’re really trying to focus on is the interpersonal stuff once the others show up and blow her cover.

I sometimes wish I’d thrown in more weird AUs, and then I remember how hard it was to write a chapter that would work for both the spy assassin ending and the modern cultivators ending. I’m not sure how many more chapters I could have pulled off that would slot seamlessly into two different genres

The spy assassin ending of my CYOA is one of my favorite things I’ve written, and sometimes I really do wonder what it feels like to be reading through a bunch of fluffy rom-com versions of the story, and then unwittingly follow the path that dumps you into this abrupt swerve in genre 😆

Yeah, single people deserve to have their lives celebrated the same amount as people who get married! It’s pretty unlikely I’ll ever get married, but I’d love to gather all my loved ones in the same place to celebrate some milestone that gets wedding-level consideration from the world at large

WWX did not attend the trial, couldn’t bring himself to be in the same room as his parents’ killer, to listen to a cold, factual presentation of what was done to them. He carries a lot of guilt for not being there to represent his parents, not giving them a voice during the trial.

LWJ sat through every gruesome moment of the trial with a completely blank face. The press had a field day with it. Some corners of the internet still insist that Mama Lan wasn’t the Chord Assassin, that she was covering up for LWJ. (Never mind that he was 5 at the time of her earliest known kill.)

She was caught and stood trial when LWJ was in his late teens or early twenties. He attended every day of the trial, sometimes with LXC, sometimes alone. (QHJ was also there every day, but LWJ never sat near him or acknowledged him in any way.)

Serial killer Mama Lan was known as the Chord Assassin, because she killed her victims by strangling them with three guqin strings braided together. She believed (and still believes) that she’s a cultivator, and that all the people she killed were dangerous creatures.

My last experiment with drafting fic using voice-to-text while working on a tedious task went super poorly, yet I’m once again considering it so I can write while I scrape wallpaper off my walls. Words cannot express how relieved I am to have uncovered wall and not another layer of wallpaper

A section of wall about three feet wide between two white doors. The bottom half of the wall has had the wallpaper removed down to the bare brown wall. There are a bunch of spackle spots covering nails. The next quarter up the wall is still covered with green, floral-patterned wallpaper. The top quarter has a patchy mess of an additional layer of wallpaper, and over one of the doors there’s a section further covered by yet another layer of wallpaper.

This took about two hours, and once I finish the whole rest of the room, I’m still going to have to do it all over again to remove the next layer of wallpaper. Please send help

Peeking through in a couple of spots is yet bother layer of wallpaper with white and yellow flowers

The same wall, with the top layers of wallpaper and glue partially scraped away to reveal the green wallpaper with white and yellow flowers underneath. The top layers have been removed from the bottom of the wall almost up to the light switch. The rest of the wall still has the layer of wallpaper back and glue waiting to be scraped up.

Starting my next redecorating project and oh boy is it just wallpaper on wallpaper on wallpaper in here

A wall with a wallpaper panel peeled off. The untouched wallpaper panels on either side are cream with irregular blue/green and peach vertical lines. In the middle section where the wallpaper has been peeled up, the bottom is another layer wallpaper with some kind of grassy floral pattern largely obscured by a layer of glue. About halfway up the wall, that layer of wallpaper has torn away to reveal beneath it another layer of wallpaper, this one green with puffy yellow and white flowers.

He really is trying though. He pays such close attention to all WWX's lessons, tries so hard to spot all the characteristics WWX has pointed out to him. He is so frustrated that he keeps looking foolish in front of the handsome professor. This is the worst, and he has no plans to stop.
