I have a long weekend so maybe I can get something finished to post. I am about a quarter of the way through Chapter 4 of Confessions. I think Chapter 4 is going to be longer because I don't have enough of the one scene I want for Chapter 5 and it would just be short. 6 should be the end.

I was going to write out my WIP and where they stood, but then opened my one shot draft folder... and... So, these 3 are the ones that will likely get posted next:

Still stuck in burnout, but am working on stuff as I can. Work has gotten worse. The next chapter of Confessions is finished. My goal is to get the chapter after finished and the last one started before posting the next one.

I'm still around. Work has decided to be hell the past couple of weeks and my burnout spiked again.

LaraDrake @laradrake.bsky.social · 04/02/2026

I'm still slowly working on things. Hollanov may have sucked me in too. Life is not being kind right now so I'll get stuff worked on and posted when I can.

WIP Wednesday because Ao3 is down and I'm having to find ways to distract myself.

Shanks finished putting the last handful of coins into his pockets and then reached out to touch Mihawk's elbow. "I've got enough for both of us." He let his fingers linger on Mihawk's jacket, not wanting to pull his touch completely away.
Mihawk pushed his wallet back into his pocket and pulled his arm back, carefully keeping contact with the red head until he could slip his hand into Shanks's. He kept his gaze away, looking everywhere but at Shanks or where he was holding his hand.

I have found my old fanfic is still up on one of the sites I thought died forever ago. The writing is not bad, it's the old author's notes that are super cringe. I am so entertained.

Still working on getting the last of the stuff up for the month challenge. I've been busy with stuff after getting the ZoSan Secret Santa done. Everything else will get updated then and I've started developing two others that will be longer.

I'll have to pick up the novella. I don't think I have it in my TBR pile.

I was debating stopping after reading the first 2 books. I really enjoyed them but the blurb for the 3rd one really didn't catch my attention like the others did.

If you don't know, the difference is No warnings: none of the AO3 warnings (violence, mcd, noncon, underage) appear in this fic Choose not to use: any of those can appear in this fic, but the author doesn't want to say what

A tweet from Liesel (@lieselsart):
BEGGING ao3 readers AND authors to get the distinction between "No archive warnings apply" and "author chose not to use archive warnings"
cause it IS important

I knew they weren't going to include everything from the cottage part of the book. The loon part was the one that I was super hoping they would leave in because I wanted to see Ilya's reaction. They did not disappoint.

Migraines are the freaking worst. I caught this one but it is doing that lingering bullshit. Ugh. I think I might just let myself chill tonight. I've been trying all day to write something but nothing.

LaraDrake @laradrake.bsky.social · 18/12/2025

I have not done my writing today. I had a mid day migraine that I thought I had headed off, but did not manage to get it to stop. But, I saw the stills for Friday and.. Holy. Shit. I'm going to cry.

The moment I go to post today's prompt so I can go to bed, Ao3 decides it is done loading for the day.

Ultimately, do what makes you comfortable! If you want to sit on it for a couple of days or post and ignore the comments for a couple of days, do that. It's hard to put yourself out there. I know I'd love to read it, but if it will make your day harder to post it, then do what is best for you.

My brain just decided that it wants to see Jared Keeso as Ryan Price if they add Tough Guy to Heated Rivalry next season. I'm sure that is not a thing, but even if he just makes a cameo or something. Though, I trust Jacob Tierney to pick the right actors for all the characters.

Fandom can be so rough some times. I simultaneously want to be and don't want to be apart of it. (I have been in some really bad ones before.) I'm glad you have found some fun in writing. I'm looking forward to your fic!

LaraDrake @laradrake.bsky.social · 09/12/2025

It's weird looking at some of the fics that I wrote and posted years ago getting bookmarks and kudos still. I know I just went through a huge backlog of Mishanks and Zosan so I get it, but some of the fandoms I didn't even think were still really active at all. Just an observation, not complaining.
