If anyone has any pictures to share they'd be lovely to see. People have asked about donating on Ent's behalf and he had suggested giving to the Christie's Hospital. A page has already been set up to donate to their charity here if anyone had wanted to www.justgiving.com/page/codebun...

I'm touched by how many people have shared kind words about Ent, thank you everyone. The funeral is arranged for 12th March at 10am at Stockport Crematorium in the Rowan Chapel and the service is open to anyone. Afterwards there'll just be a small private meal for family. -Angela

It's with great sadness I have to share the news that Ent passed away earlier today. Thank you to everyone who has visited, messaged and been there for him both recently and throughout the years. He was much loved by me and many more and he will be greatly missed -From Angela, Ent's wife

I'm so glad you're back on your feet as it's been lovely seeing you out again this week too. You've been such an amazing help both practically, and just as a great friend being here when I've needed that fuzzy shoulder! *hugs*

I am touched that you still remember this too! ❤️ It remains a very special piece of music to me too to this day.

Thank you to everyone for all your kind and supportive words on here the other day. I may have been too overwhelmed to reply to everyone, but every single message was still read and appreciated, and seeing so many old names reach out too has meant the world. You are some of the very best people! ❤️

You're someone I always like to see more of having been a close friend for so many years. Will try and catch up on Discord and see what we can do

Thanks Lupe. *hugs* 26th should be fine too so I've at least scribbled it in for now.

Any friends who do want to visit me at home in Manchester get in touch and I'll see what we can do as any company is welcome. You may just have to cope with potentially short sessions and seeing me hooked up to various things. But even if you can't, still know I love every one of you always! <3

Over December and January I've lost most mobility and am currently largely confined to a bed with breathing problems and pain. And pending some miracle it's very likely this is going to be the case for my remaining time in this world, which is likely to be counted in weeks now.

So, the dreaded health update! A lot have already been informed or can make a good guess based on recent tweets, but to confirm I am now on The Endgame. The last viable cancer treatment has failed, so movement now is solely towards keeping me as comfortable as possible and able to stay at home.

I may look somewhat worse for wear after a week away in hospital, but for now I am at least back with the family! A proper update will follow at a later date.

* The kittens - when I've been able to spend time with them in person, just stroking them has been so soothing. And even when not possible, we have cameras on their den allowing me to still have a break from life's miseries just watching two little brothers cuddle up and play!

There are a few things that have made the last few weeks so much more bearable:- * Friends visiting. It's become more difficult now people are back at work, but I have appreciated every moment people have spent with me. And hopefully once I'm home again there'll be more chances!

Another long week spent in a hospital with noisy people, disoriented wanderers, uncomfortable beds and grim toilets (and this is one of the nicer NHS hospitals). But hopefully I'll be home again tomorrow or Wednesday and then able to avoid the place for a bit. We shall but see!

Happy birthday today go out to @silverfoxwolf.bsky.social , one of the nicest werewolves I happen to know. The most gutting thing about being too ill to attend Scotiacon this year is knowing that I won't get to see you there! :( However, I do hope you have a great day and that I get another chance!

Another day, another hospital tube now attached. Only this time they've managed to drain a litre of fluid from my lungs via it. That's only the first drain too, but already the improvement to my breathing is immense! 1 whole litre though!!

Currently my little calendar widget for all of January only has birthday reminders showing it, with not one single event booked in. While the health reasons behind this are clear, it's still so weird a thing to see especially as they were each colour coded!

If you're through Manchester then, it would be great if you could pop by for a few hours. Though admittedly February is looking a dauntingly long time away for me at the moment! :(

It's more of a half-arsed compromise. As they've decided to push back the promised all-electric order for Stockport by about 4 years now, TfGM decided to dump the knackered hybrids back here again in the interim while waiting new diesels. Most were on the 192 originally before they went on to Magic!

At the moment I have no comfortable position in which I can even use the laptop, let alone write anything on it. I'm stuck with the short comments I can do on my phone only!

It possibly doesn't help that, with everyone now being back in work, I can't even have many visitors around here now to distract me. So I've just got all that time to wallow in my thoughts instead.

Being stuck in bed all day every day is really starting to get to me now. I just feel so useless and struggle to stay comfortable. But I've not yet worked out any position out of the bed which isn't even worse either on my back, neck, or swollen legs.

I think it's just what comes from being kittens in their most hyper months. Annoyingly it doesn't help that with all my own problems I'm only able to provide very limited help and support at the moment.

The cats have been neutered today. We were led to believe they'd be all groggy after the anaesthetic so keeping them isolated for healing would be easy. Instead they are manic! It's a good job the mother is here with us too at the moment as it's requiring two people full time!

I wish I even knew what games people play online now. I'm going stir crazy being bedridden now! Hopefully your brain will allow you some of that much needed enjoyment yourself soon though, even if it's later than planned and just a little amount.

I may be spending most of this Christmas in bed, but at least I've been able to squeeze in some much needed cuddle therapy! :3
Ent laid in bed with two kittens, one under an arm, on him.

I've not been able to move much from the bed this past week, so I've really appreciated all the friends and family who've visited and helped keep me sane. And throughout this all, my wife has definitely been like a rock and I can never thank her enough!

Thanks everyone for coming up with the simplest solution I'd just completely forgotten about! Me and the wife will try and schedule in regular festive movies over the next week. It works great with me being largely bedbound, and also helps keep the pair of us in a bit of spirit still! :)

Does anyone have any ideas on how to get some feeling of Christmas this year? With all the problems I have going on we haven't felt like putting up internal decorations and I can't eat much food either, but I'd still like there to be *some* little simple Christmas spirit still.

I'd pushed off making the decision as long as possible, but with the sudden decline in health Scotiacon 2025 is officially not happening for me now. :(

Well I finally escaped the hospital yesterday, but being back home has highlighted just how much my overall health has declined in just over a week. Unfortunately things are not looking good. :(

The sorts of things I worry about:- Will the kittens still remember me when I get allowed back home as I'll have been away 7/8 days?

I am also very tired, though I never even made it to a deep enough sleep for dreams. Too many patients mouthing off at the nurses or naked weirdos just wandering into the private rooms uninvited. Being in a private room on a hospital ward does nothing once the rest of the great unwashed turn up! :/

Four days in and I'm now in my third isolation ward, but yes I'm still in the hospital. The good news is they're happy things look to be going in the right direction with the infection and are now just trying to bring down swelling and monitoring lots. The aim is to have me out before Saturday!

Well they have me on a private isolation ward now. I was rushed here last night out of fear I've picked up an infection given the readings for temperature and breathing that were showing. And now they're so concerned given my immunocompromised nature they want to avoid any additional risk!
