There will be a panel discussion on emerging challenges and opportunities in atmospheric chemistry. This evening at iCACGP-IGAC 2026. There's a great panel ready to discuss. But, what do you all think are emerging opportunities? How have the challenges changed recently?

Happy Clean Air for Blue Skies Day! 💙 One thing I've heard for years about clean air work is: yeah, air pollution is neglected and important, but, ehhhh, it just isn't so tractable. As in, there aren't enough people and organizations to fund in many places with poor air.

NCAR is a unique & valuable asset - far more than a climate model, or observations, or technology, or training ground, or gathering space. It covers weather, space weather, data, climate, paleo-climate, and everything in-between. It's building is an icon, but it's iconic status goes far beyond that.

I recently analyzed LMIC participants by location and year and found out that conference location REALLY matters for this--40% LMIC participation in 2014 in Natal, 57% in 2024 in Kuala Lumpur, 15% in 2022 in Manchester (COVID still a big thing for that conference, though), ~3% for Colorado in 2016.
