Here's my 9 games. I've put 100s of hours in to each of these games, and if I want to go to a comfy place, will zone out and play these for a couple of hours on the MiSTer.

Your first point is incorrect. (www.businessinsider.com/football-vs-...) Because of the commonwealth and former British Empire most nations that speak English call it football, and most where English isn't the lingua franca use a word which is a literal translation of "foot ball".

It's possible we're getting different advertisements. As one of my friends said. How long will it be until they're personalised to each user's stream?

Heres the perfect example. Look how blurry the #PSG player looks in front of the virtual advertising hoarding, compared to when he isn’t. How does anyone think that’s acceptable quality for 4K Champions League Final coverage. It’s like the keying software is working with a 720p feed or something.

Here’s another one. Look at the arsenal player furthest away from camera who runs in front of the board, and how the details spawn in like an Unreal Engine texture load when he moves away from it.

The virtual advertising boards on the Champions League final coverage are doing a terrible job at keying around the players when they’re on the far side of the pitch. It’s really noticeable in 4K. #ChampionsLeague #ucl #uefa

Same but with jealousy and envy because of this scene.

After Only Connect went in on the NYT stealing their Connecting Wall format the other week, it seems they're trying to offer an olive branch this morning.
Today's NYT Games Connections grid. The first four clues read: "Only", "Connect", "Olive", "Branch"A blurry photo of a TV Showing the Connecting Wall from the BBC TV show "Only Connect". The second row of solved clues are "Tiles", "Mini", "Vertex", and "Strands". Crucially, "Connections" is a clue on the wall, but not in the NYT Games category.

It seems like virgin media TV is broke for a lot of people (according to a search I did the bird site to see if it was just me ). This is what l'm getting on mine. Looks similar all over, with a lot of people trying to watch the first footie game of the season.

Going to have a nice relaxing, anxiety free, night watching BBC Four.
A screenshot of BBC iPlayer, showing the BBC Four schedule:

22:10 - The War Game (film). Controversial Film depicting the terrible consequences of a nuclear attack on Britain.

22:55 - Mick Jackson Remembers Threads... (Documentary) Director and producer Mick Jackson looks back on the BBC's 1984 apocalyptic drama Threads.

23:15 - Threads (Film). The story of a nuclear attack on Britain and what remains for the unlucky survivors.

Each entry is accompanied with a thumbnail image, a run time and a note showing how long it is available on the iPlayer service.

It was depressing when the scoreboard looked like this. A 608 target, makes for a boring day 5 of playing for the draw. Interesting the India waited till 5 to declare though - They think they can get England out in a day and 90 minutes? #ENGvIND #WTC27

Here's a mark scheme for a GCSE paper, as you can see they get Error Carried Forward marks. If they incorrectly convert or substitute, they can still gain marks for correctly rearranging an incorrectly substituted equation but not viceversa.

The quote tweets to this summed up perfectly: bsky.app/profile/chia...
[Ponytail and Cueball are talking. Ponytail has her hand raised, palm up, towards Cueball.]
Ponytail: Silicate chemistry is second nature to us geochemists, so it's easy to forget that the average person probably only knows the formulas for olivine and one or two feldspars.
Cueball: And quartz, of course.
Ponytail: Of course.
[Caption below the panel]
Even when they're trying to compensate for it, experts in anything wildly overestimate the average person's familiarity with their field.

Going through an old physics storeroom at work. Found a full box from 1973 onwards. I'm really enjoying looking at the advertisements.
The front cover of May 1981's issue of "Electronics today international." It boasts over 100 pages. The cover article shows a PCB imitating a front garden and is headlined "Remote control your home!"A close up of the date and price of the issue on the front page. 65p!An advert for a Casio calculator watch, model CA-90. £24.95. Boasts the functions, watch, calculator, alarm, chimes, stopwatch, and a digital space invader game.

The headline is "These space invaders will alarm you - the price won't!"More adverts, including an Atari T.V game for £98.90, a hand held space invaders game for £19.95 and a teletext add on adapter from Radofin for £199.
