Just published a study I started about a decade ago: journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/... Much of what we "know" about religion comes from a few unusual societies. Does it hold everywhere? I tested three familiar truisms across 66 countries. None held up beyond the Christian West.

I used to be a minister and was curious why clergy feel dissatisfied with their jobs and consider leaving ministry. I identified three key predictors: feeling uncared for by one’s congregation, poor mental health, and, perhaps unsurprisingly, religious doubts. journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/...

Our study on religiosity during the pandemic was just assigned an issue: academic.oup.com/socrel/artic... We show how a switch to web surveys during COVID-19 skewed estimates, creating a misleading illusion of rapid religious decline driven by nonresponse bias among the most religious.
