My insurance company suddenly kicked my PCP out of their network with no notice. And since I have an HMO, I can't see anyone without a referral for my PCP. Meaning they basically have stopped me from being able to use my benefits. Amazing system.

I have a Big Ask from our community. Many of you will remember our graduates Pikachu and Eevee, who were adopted together. Eevee had dealt with some very challenging chronic diarrhea while she was a kitten, but before adoption, we figured out a food that worked for her & she was all better (thread)

I mean, that's not strictly true. You can't turn over records without a court order. Or, in this case, the attorney that was assaulted could consent to the release of his medical records. But HIPAA isn't some ironclad rule, there are plenty of exceptions.

When I was a student at Brown, all the dorm room numbers were 867-****. I believe the university ended up discontinuing use of that number because the students who had it would get too many prank calls. (I'm old enough to have gone to college when dorms had landlines 😭)

The Pokopia subreddit is similarly full of people asking "Are we meant to do x?" and it's like, you aren't meant to do anything. Level the whole map, leave it be, build elaborate homes, let all your Pokemon live in tall grass. There's no wrong option.
