Just finished Lanterns season 1. Y'all. It's good. No spoilers here but if you haven't seen it, please check it out. Right out of the gate it tells a great story, some good twists and wonderful character development. Out of everything I've seen DC on the big screen & shows, this one is the gem.

I miss the days that we could trust teachers. But I've been around too many religious people (some who are teachers) and heard their words. And I witness the stuff going on today, that I don't trust like I once did. I verify, I stay vigilant. And I have the last word with my kids.

I'm much more careful who I put on a pedestal now when it comes to information. Because I know even that can be an agenda, or a take, or an opinion. Sometimes you have to actually find out their values too. Like do you believe in democracy?

Be watchful. Be engaged w/something. Peter Cullen saying "go into ur communities" after his passing was not by accident. Find ur people & ur community & engage. Stay hopeful. Be intentional. If you struggle, ok, do ur best. None of this gets better by putting your head in the sand & ignoring it.

Basically we roll back all the things that were broke to silence sanity and fact based decision making to 50+ years in the past because it "felt" safer then. (Maybe for a specific group of people felt that way!?!) We also didn't have a vast majority of our medical improvements, or RIGHTS!

You may say, Why would they make this if it's going to cause a reaction? There's plenty peppermint in cosmetics that seem fine, soaps, shampoos etc. but some people don't like it. It won't kill you, may not cause rash, but you could be uncomfortable, or chafed. Or compromise your skin barrier.

It may take time, a lot of the DOJ was replaced preemptively for this reason. So enforcement unfortunately will be a little delayed. Weeding out the bad actors, the Loyalists...that's all going to be challenging. The in-between time is the challenge. Hold the course.
