Joplin's native importer built in causes it, and so does Obsidian's official community importer plugin too. I tried both. This is with Evernote's ENEX format. When I tried to export notes from Evernote as HTML it caused WAY MORE problems.

Apparently Markdown as a language literally doesn't have it. All of the Markdown editors I ever tried have the same issue because it's a problem with Markdown itself rather than the editors. The editors have to kludge in html as a workaround to get it. This happens in both Obsidian and Joplin alike.

Lightest 🔞 🏳️‍⚧️ ⚢ @ladylightest.bsky.social · 09/10/2026

Which is still going to take one hell of a long time to pull off since I ha e several thousand notes that markdown importing is going to strip the underline formatting out of, so I'm going to have to replace all the underlines by hand, one by one, for hours, weeeee.

It was a finalist in my consideration, actually. It handles line breaks a lot better than Joplin. What made me lean toward deciding Joplin is that it has a much clearer and more intuitive user interface, and Obsidian's themes didn't seem to add much clarity to its UI.

Lightest 🔞 🏳️‍⚧️ ⚢ @ladylightest.bsky.social · 09/10/2026

What did the two of you end up choosing for your replacement, if you don't mind me asking? I haven't actually started my migration yet, so if you know of something slop-free that's even better than Joplin, I'm all ears.

110

Lightest 🔞 🏳️‍⚧️ ⚢ @ladylightest.bsky.social · 09/10/2026

Well, it is decided. I'm choosing Joplin as my replacement for Evernote. It does still suck because I'm going to have to go through several thousand notes by hand to re-do all my underlining since Markdown doesn't have native underlining. But it's worth it to flip the bird to those slop merchants.

Spent my entire evening after work last night trying to find a decent replacement for Evernote. Even Joplin, the leading candidate, has problems that frustrate me, like stripping out all my underlining. A vast majority of writing apps have jumped on the AI Slop bandwagon. I'm fucking tired, boss.

I can relate to the feeling of being drawn back. I still feel that urge occasionally with MOBAs like Smite and Heroes of the Storm, even though I hate what they bring out of me and how miserable they make me feel.

Before my egg cracked and I realized I was an amab trans woman, I exclusively watched lesbian porn and thought that this was just a normal thing that dudes did. I couldn't enjoy straight porn at all since I couldn't project myself into the male actor's position. Woops, turns out I'm a transbian!

I am lucky enough to have no debts and make enough money to live comfortably with extra leftover, so I can toss money at multiple queer artists for art comms regularly all across the community. I get tons of joy from supporting LGBTQ+ artists instead of buying cheap plastic consumerist crap.

My redesign of The Expanse's Rocinante - 1% more realistic: bigger for more water (re-mass, RCS) and chemical rockets for landing. Shouldn't turn your landing pad into cancercrete! Also lasers? And radiators? Someone please make a co-op Expanse ship-to-ship combat game. I beg u.

My redesign of the Rocinante with thicc radiators, PDCs, and pulse lasers? Magnetic Nozzle? Also it's larger because it has more propellant for those big boosts and the new chemical landing rockets.

I believe FA lets you just point your ad to a URL of your choice. If I did this I'd just point it at my FA gallery and have the ad say "I'm not asking you to buy anything, justifiably please read my stories." I really want more readers more than anything else. 🥺

Lightest 🔞 🏳️‍⚧️ ⚢ @ladylightest.bsky.social · 06/10/2026

Do y'all think it'd be silly for me to buy ad slots on FA just for the sole purpose to get people reading my stories? I don't even take public open commissions, so it's not like I'd be earning any money from getting more eyes on my work. I'm just lonely and CRAVE comments on my work. 🥺

Very discrete. We use Nyctarian Cloaking Devices on all our orbital sociological observation stations. And unlike a certain other federation we don't build outposts planetside with only cheap Holo-emitters to hide their presence! And yes, petitioning from natives does help!

110

Lightest 🔞 🏳️‍⚧️ ⚢ @ladylightest.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

Hey now, it may be batshit crazy down there but let's not resort to planet buster weapons shall we? I can send you a few politicians to chomp on after I get approval for intervention if that'll appease your vengeful desires!

110

Lightest 🔞 🏳️‍⚧️ ⚢ @ladylightest.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

I'm going to TRY to cut through the red tape to expedite it, but no guarantees. Even after the Lilith fiasco on Earth Delta-17 the High Council STILL tends to drag their feet about charitable intervention missions.

000

Lightest 🔞 🏳️‍⚧️ ⚢ @ladylightest.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

Well step 1 would be the immediate removal and imprisonment of autocratic dictators worldwide, followed by the removal of billionaires too. But we have to run a whole bunch of sociological studies to make sure our existence doesn't cause mass panic and riots first. *siiiiigh*

110

Lightest 🔞 🏳️‍⚧️ ⚢ @ladylightest.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

Sadly I don't have the power to unilaterally decide to deploy ships to alien worlds without the High Council's approval. We need to make sure we don't cause bloody religious wars and unrest by showing up on your doorstep uninvited. But a little bit of sociological study and outreach is fine!

010

Lightest 🔞 🏳️‍⚧️ ⚢ @ladylightest.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

Don't worry, we understand the risks of messing with Monoliths. We have preemptively marked all variations of Europa across all timelines as strictly off-limits unless otherwise invited.

Huh, our probability calculations hadn't predicted a spacefaring civilization on this realm's Mars. But then again, they also didn't predict things being this bad on Earth either. Either way, greetings to you as well. I guess our comms satellite will be pulling double first contact duty then. 😂
