iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

We started a little over a year ago. Hey now, colorists do very important work!

Honestly we all run on different schedules juggling projects so we look when there is free time for each of us individually. Could be weekly, monthly, quarterly, just depends on the AD or team looking.

I’m working on a little digital series for illustrators on how to work with Art Directors and what we might be looking for in portfolios! If you have any questions leave them here and I can try to accommodate them!

It is ALWAYS worth putting yourself out there! There could be a set that is perfect for you :)

Wow my brain was not computing with my hands there 🤣

If you don’t hear from us right away it is not because you are forgotten! We are hand picking through HUNDREDS/ Thousands of artists to match with specific set needs. If you’ve ever wanted want you can resubmit after 6 months. If you have any questions feel free to ask :)

My mid year reminder to artists! Wizards has a portfolio submission tool so if you’ve ever wanted to create art with your own hands, you can get it in front of real human art directors!

We are constantly looking/scouting but this just makes our lives easier! It also gets your portfolio in front of many of our teams looking for art :D

130

Trying to be as clear, honest and as helpful as possible! Getting to make art for Wizards is a mountain most people want to climb and any tools I can use to help make that easier, I’m happy to do.

Yes! When you fill out the form it will ask if you’re applying to D&D or Magic and ask your skills. Cartography and maps are included :)

100

That totally works!! It will get it in front of the D&D team :)

020

Nothing wrong with excitement and enthusiasm!! There is plenty of time 😊

I’m always happy to share the information whenever I can. It is such a privilege and honor to be able to offer artists work that they can make a living off of. I know what it’s like to be in the grind.

150

Being an artist is such a long process, keep at it and putting yourself out there! 💚 ADs are always trying to get the right pairings to style and goals. You might have caught someone’s eyes and they are waiting for the right piece. Don’t let it get ya down

140

The difference in sketch should do the trick!

040

For artists already working for us I encourage you to reach out to the last AD you have worked with and they can lead you to our internal process. If that AD doesn’t get back to you in 3 days Joanna feel free to message me and I’ll help you :)

140

It sure is! Getting a peek into your process is just as important to us! Even labels in a portfolio of what’s a quick sketch ect. We are all under specific timelines and knowing your own limits allows you to accept the correct amount of work without burning yourself out or loosing quality 😊

The pallet frill collar is just perfection 😍😍😍

In addition to final illustrations, we’re also looking for representative examples of your whole creative process from references, thumbnail sketches, color comps, roughs, etc.;it’s important to show that you can take feedback well and pivot direction as needed based on the vision of an art director

1311

We are looking for strong fundamentals in anatomy, mature rendering, materiality, use of color, proportions, figure-ground relationship, believable lighting, creative use of camera angles, etc. across a broad range of styles

2342

- Show at least 6 examples of your best and most recent work - Sketches and other process work encouraged - Portfolios including artwork created with generative AI will not be considered

1614

A few kind reminders for this process - This tool now stays open all year long! - There is no guarantee of work - This is for Magic, D&D, and Concept artists - Read and follow the directions if your portfolio is not uploaded correctly it can’t be looked at
