The main plot is about how Death Adder took the Golden Axe, started an age of darkness and terrorised the land. The heros pass through burning villages and screaming people on their way to try rescue the king. If you're not able to make dark fantasy out of that, I'm not sure what more you need.

The entire setting is an evil warlord has subjugated an entire region, summoning the undead and razing villages to the ground. You literally save screaming villagers from monsters and bandits at times. Sorry that went over your head because you think the dinosaur mounts are funny.

I love Golden Axe. I would have loved a show with a dark fantasy setting that fit the tone of the games. This looks really bland. Really lazy comedy was not what I'd have expected in a million years.
