Each of the three prototypes epitomises one of the key challenges we identified: data integration (traffic flow planning), simulation (population growth) and visualisation (shared spaces). /3

Now, in a recent publication out at EGOVIS 2026, we describe the design and implementation of each prototype and report on a technical evaluation of their feasibility. /2

In our recent project on adapting smart city and urban digital twin concepts for small-town and rural contexts, we derived three use cases: traffic flow planning, population growth and shared spaces. (We already wrote and presented on that part of the process at ICEDEG 2025.) /1

With the growing adoption of AI systems, working on how we all can exert control over AI becomes an increasingly urgent problem. Most existing work on democratic control focuses on macro-level governance. In contrast, in recent work out at ACM FAccT '26, coauthored with colleagues from /1

We are still looking for interviewees working on and with open-source software, especially from thus far underrepresented groups (people with little to medium experience working on OSS, those in mid-career stages (10–20 years on the job), women and nonbinary people, people over 45 years old).

Betrifft: „Die Ruhe weg“ von A. Goldenberg, Falter 42/23
