Fourth month in a row of 20 million page views for ABC Sport stories. Ashes and Australian Open always strong, but Winter Olympics into Asian Cup has seen a great and consistent audience through the usually difficult February and March months.

Happy #iwd2026. A reminder that women’s sport not only matters, it is an absolute behemoth when you give it the attention it deserves. Matildas comfortably sit atop the most read live coverage stories that ABC Sport has done since I joined the team.

The top 20 live blogs for ABC Sport since the start of August. For anyone questioning - as I've seen all too often - why there has been so much coverage of Gout Gout. Incredible effort for a teenager to do what he did.

Our live blog schedule can move with the wind a bit - this year we did the Canada v USA ice hockey and it was our biggest performer so far, so I think the 'other' category is always interesting ... (2/3)

Jeremy Cameron has moved into Geelong’s top six goalkickers since the start of 2000. Moves ahead of Kent Kingsley. Tyson Stengle has surpassed Travis Varcoe.

Odd trial match, in that at times it resembled a final with the intensity that both clubs were going at it. Kako a star in the making, Bowes and Knevitt looked great for the Cats. #AFLCatsDons

Being home for Christmas reminds me of the fact that mum has a photo frame proudly displayed in the kitchen full of photos of completely random people.

Martin Love poses for his Christmas portrait ahead of making his Test debut. Imagine making your debut in an Ashes Boxing Day Test, and you’ve been brought into one of the greatest Test sides in history … and they make you do an awkward Christmas tree portrait.

But according to his dad (pictured here with an American musician), while the rest of the family still used Kelss, their mother had used Kelsee because that was the dad’s nickname at work (I assume like Smithy or Jonesy)

Dumb sports fact of the day that I’ve just learned this morning. Travis Kelce’s (of legendary NFL tight end fame … and that whole dating a pop star thing) surname is actually pronounced KELSS but he and his brother have adopted KEL-SEE because so many people get it wrong in the first place.

November ABC Sport readership data broken down into the main individual sports. No surprises at all with the cricket, while the Melbourne Cup was the main driver for the significant monthly boost in horse racing. Boxing data essentially came from just three days of coverage.

Lost in the end but full credit to the team, played a solid four quarters, gave 110%. Great to see so many ABC reporters acknowledged last night and plenty of my old CM mates get a nod as well.

Almost the entire ABC Sport digital team in one photo, bar or two out of shot. Incredibly proud of what this group delivers day in and day out, often with about a tenth of the resources that other departments have. Lucky to have such a talented and hard working group of journos.

Historical photo of the day - Phil Hughes celebrates taking a catch during a Shield match. I think there would be few sport editors who don’t remember the details of the week of Phil’s incident and death ten years ago. Just an awful and unfathomable moment in a sport that brings so much joy.

ABC reader data from the weekend of the 23rd and 24th of November broken down into individual sports. No surprise about the cricket, but the volleyball and the ski jump show the power of one-off stories that either tell an important yarn or have viral footage. (Two not tagged are golf and AFLW)

ABC readership breakdown by sport for Thursday, November 21. The AFL draft rules the roost again with big next morning numbers and an increased interest in the second night of action compared to 2023. Expect cricket to be the big traffic driver for the next five days.

Readership by sport breakdown for Wednesday, November 20 on ABC platforms. A strong showing from the world game on the back of the Socceroos and the ParaMatildas, but the AFL is the big one for the day based mainly on interest in the draft, where hope is sold to desperate fans.

Most read sports on the ABC for Tuesday, November 19, and there's a clear 'WTF' in the stats. Huge readership on the awful attack after a pickleball game in Mexico. I'd previously put a block on pickleball yarns because there was almost zero interest in it. Footage almost always drives readership.

Readership on ABC Sport for Monday, November 18 broken down into the individual sports. The Wallabies winning always a solid traffic driver, while the soccer audience was mostly driven by Sam Kerr’s announcement. Expect cricket and Aussie Rules to lead the way at the back end of the week.
