40 - he/him - Detroit, USA I review the daily female Jpop MV releases in a top 3 format! Includes live, cover & dance videos. Must only have 1 song and be from an official channel. Every day since late 2023!

A run of great non-MVs have locked out good MVs recently, including all 3 spots today. I want to finally show love to 1 of the 100 anime OP/ED released over the past 2 weeks. It feels like RPG box art from the NES/SNES era come to life! Toaka sings it who toured with RADWIMPS! youtu.be/eyps2lFMx18

Pairing beautifully with today's winner is this love song medley as if you're looking back at the good times after the breakup, or maybe it worked out. May J actually takes the lower pitched harmonies despite being 1/3 the size of American born Jpop singer Chris Hart. BIG LOVE! youtu.be/FCTKh_vS8U8

46, yesterday's amazing vocals was just the opening act for today's headliners! Many studio type videos with nishina easily winning. Like a brilliant method actor she put herself in a dark place for this emotional breakup song, fighting back tears while keeping strong vocals! 😭 youtu.be/AZcPgZcFwEY

Now that there's a buffer after the #1 video we can look the other best vocals today which are found in this anime MV by Tota. I would leave this off of a more competitive day not because of the cartoon style but because it's the type of love stuff that makes me feel too sad. 😭 youtu.be/ZCJSI4RNvMA

None of the other 42 videos could follow the winner vocally but thankfully my favorite MV today is more about the visuals & presentation. Newish idol group OROCHI shares a name with other groups & bands so think of them as OROCHiSM. Pepe the Frog with false eyelashes tattoo. 😂 youtu.be/VU7MRUsHfC0

43, once burned out it's always the next day that feels like a chore. The enka industry has been able to coast off of the same people for decades but it's finally time to find younger fans. 21 year old prodigy Utano Fujisaki hopes to do that with a cover series. What a talent!🤯 youtu.be/E2Ac1cI4leM

A deep cut long-running joke on these lists is wether or not it's selfish for one member to dress extra sexy during a dance practice video. That made me laugh but I don't know if MyDearDarlin' actually qualify for that here since a few others are showing out too. Decent song. youtu.be/kHjWKFwGcOM

40, I'm def burned out from both yesterday & anime OP/ED. I love a good revenge story so it's always bonus points for something just after tough luck prevented a top 3. demipogue lap the field with one of the most no-doubt wins of 2026. With 2 all-star groups taking the top 2 spots it left a giant pile of MVs to fight for one spot with no time for 2nd viewings on a day with over 150 on Spotify. The ultra-rare combo of cute-silly-sexy is my favorite, I'd say Tsuji-Kago are that. NANAOAKARI shows how it's done!🥰 youtu.be/BFSmN6fQ_04

As depressing as that was it doesn't get much better at #2 as we get a look at what the youngsters made popular through Tik-Tok in 2026. I joke but the short form isn't for me. I didn't find the MV for this Jr idol song by FLWLS in time to be judged but it wouldn't have ranked due to starting with a dogwhistle of a butt-shot of the youngest member. I really don't like being scared so my favorite style of Halloween videos is of course cute-spooky! There's a general spooky live from Made in Maiden but I prefer this short MV from The Idolm@ster franchise. 2D characters barely ever make me feel cuteness overload but this did! youtu.be/eiBDA1eBEM8

38 with Spooky Month heating up. Some videos use shock value to create a scary vibe but I'm usually left felling grossed out instead. This dance cover by CUTIE STREET member Kana legit scares me! I can't remember the complete timeline of getting into Jpop (idols only) in 2016 but I know an early favorite was Band Ja Naimon! The fact that they're still going strong with pretty much the same lineup means a lot! Much rather watch TV performances over lives in small venues. youtu.be/X0a4duNnVus

27, only 1 new full length MV! It's only been anime songs for 3 days on Spotify so it seems everyone's taking a step back during this period. It took a perfect storm for this Harunision mini-movie to make the list, especially just weeks after an unrelated mini-movie MV was already featured. Before cutting out the male songs there was 15 anime OP/ED 90 second videos but none got close to the top 3. Even though the MVs are a let-down today the lives came through big time. 48, today's story is major names with great content that slipped tiny bits of AI into their MVs. Despite a messy chorus this Sakurazaka46 song goes hard with some of the best choreography of 2026.
