27, only 1 new full length MV! It's only been anime songs for 3 days on Spotify so it seems everyone's taking a step back during this period. However you could say this winning cover video by Kamisama Parade member Karuta is a MV. Amazing visuals with a deep sexy style voice! 😍 youtu.be/P2grg3rF1FI

38 on an important day with many anime OP/ED but for me it just creates confusion. It sucks that I can't look forward to Hello Project MVs anymore. I try not to feature songs TWICE let alone 3 times but this AiNA THE END x AG! live is the superior version over the dance & MV! 😍 youtu.be/VZEO0oL2scI

38, Kaya & Girls² ruined great songs with AI slop. If I had 30 guesses who would win today I probably wouldn't have said Straight Angeli. I'm beyond impressed with their vocals in this live performance! A Stardust group but buried low in the ranks so basically my new CROWN POP. youtu.be/FOV5_BO1yy4

48, today's story is major names with great content that slipped tiny bits of AI into their MVs. Despite a messy chorus this Sakurazaka46 song goes hard with some of the best choreography of 2026. AI flower petals almost ruined it all as it makes you wonder what else is fake. 🤦‍♂️ youtu.be/G0NTHaW8eXw

45, no break day with Thursday falling on the 1st of what might be the best month! Spooky can take many forms, fever dreams being one. So um.. Aina Suzuki of Aqours wins with the OP for her new anime about stock trading. I have no idea if AI is used but OMG it's beyond weird! 😳 youtu.be/WJ_gcQl1QL0

54 that I got in just before losing power. Harsh AF to happen on a Wednesday with playoff baseball! If you thought SPEED being on P101 Japan: The Girls was weird then just watch this live and it will all make sense. This IS Hip-Hop in it's purest form. 34 but not much going on. Sayuri Horishita re-released 3 MVs with her major debut from 2005 winning. A fever dream MV with Studio Ghibli animators! Most MVs of this style have hyper music so a slow piano song really stands out! She went back to the indies after 2011 earthquake. youtu.be/6nHGEegrL5s

20, Ayumi Hamasaki wins a slow day for many reasons. It's a nice look through multiple lives of this emotional love song on the 25th anniversary. It's one of the first Jpop songs I heard since I watched InuYasha. It's the favorite artist of the GAL streamer who I love dearly! 💞 youtu.be/GcBveaab5BM

31 which feels like the perfect amount. One of the funniest things in Jpop for me is since I don't like how auto-tune sounds I'm not a big fan of YOASOBI (I have to look up the spelling each time, not a big fan at all) however I think Lilas is one of the very best. 34, IKIZULIVE! get their 3rd win of the week & sit alone atop the best group of 2026 list! I cheated by watching a bootleg SD version of this live a few days ago but was still blown away. Sure it sounds very similar to Mugen Climax but that song's associated with a scumbag so.. youtu.be/Xycaxb4fFOY

45 with many big MVs that while good didn't rank. 2 lives take the top spots with this TV performance by JUJU winning. A beautiful ballad enhanced by her amazing vocals that would've done well with that alone. The moonlight/teardrop stage & her hat/cape made it the only choice! youtu.be/Cvg00GnAvKU

26, a true break day for me! The least amount of lives all year then right into 4 straight epic covers! In maybe the upset of the year it's Kamisama Parade member Rinze #1 with this cover video! 36 on a day with huge talking points! Hitomi Arai spent the past 16 years, from beginning to end, with TOKYO GIRLS' STYLE. Afterwards she stayed with avex to start a solo career. They used this cover MV to make a transition into a new mature style. I can see why, she's amazing! youtu.be/HLsvbL_t2AY

40 with a lot of dance covers that didn't rank high. 4 videos stood-out that are so close that any could win or get left out. I'll give #1 to NoNoGirls (which formed HANA) contestant Cocoa! 40 on a top 10 day of 2026! My top song of 2026 is probably from IKIZULIVE! The fact that they've paired that with the song in today's winning MV makes them a frontrunner for group of the year! 34, mini-movie MVs aren't an automatic top 3, if anything they're graded harder since it asks for double the time of a normal MV. Harunision conclude a multi-part series with this dramatic MV. The ghost of a girl who wanted to be an idol is waiting for them on the rooftop! youtu.be/HATIpcGkl5c

33, it's been awhile since I enjoyed almost every MV. I had a solid top 3 before the MVs so a great day overall! Out of every idol group the 2 most similar might be Okosama Plate & FR2PON! So Airi Suzuki had a spooky song & MV release a few days ago with HOKUTO. I'm guessing he didn't tag her on either the MV or song as the song just now appeared on my Spotify following feed dated to a few days ago and that's when I saw there's an MV that wasn't on my YouTube sub feed a few days ago..

25, 2 slow buns around a big Wednesday sandwich. Even without her Morning Musume legacy Riho Sayashi easily wins a day with almost no competition. A simple yet beautiful video with a great song. It's for a drama so it already has a lot of views. Here's to a strong resurgence! youtu.be/HrXPvMwL0II
