Producers caught on to the game. Top 10% sounds good until you realize it wasn't Top 9%, so with ~50,000 scripts that meant it was ranked somewhere between 4500 and 5000. That's a lot of scripts being ranked as "better" and I don't think it did anyone many favors.

I think maybe instead of focusing on what will be the next Coverfly you should just be focusing on writing and polishing and growing your network and finding a writers group, but most importantly writing.

Bummer about Coverfly. Met and worked with so many great writers through them. Things really changed when they were bought by Backstage. Hopefully other ways to bridge the gap between non-union writers and the industry will emerge.

We filmed THE VEIL in this district. The property owner/farmer was kind, fair, but also had Donald Trump Jr.'s book on his coffee table, and we had to hold filming once or twice because the neighbor was having shooting practice. This is incredible.

JRR Tolkein also did not adhere to this. He explains his own contradictions by saying that The Hobbit was colored by Bilbo's personal experiences, but in reality he was adjusting the world to fit the story he wanted to tell in LotR.

George Lucas did not adhere to this himself, he developed it out as he made more films, creating contradictions in the story he was writing that fans do mental gymnastics to resolve rather than allow as part of the creative process.

I personally couldn't care less about the electorate as it existed in 2024. There were 90 million eligible Americans who didn't vote, including at least 3 million who voted in 2020 but skipped 2024. Those are not the unreachable Trump voters, those are the disengaged.
