In a fairer government, those unaffected by a policy should not set those policies. 80 year old senators will not be around to suffer the consequences of their policies. Billionaires should not set policy for the poor, as they exist outside of the realities of financial struggle.

I'd like to suggest the modern struggle could be reduced to: Who gets to decide how comfortable others can be? Should the *most* comfortable (in wealth, privilege, rights) be allowed to dictate which people can feel safe, healthy, fed? Has opportunities? Can feel peace of mind?
