It is my favorite thing when venues do this because it's more like a real space with live music. You can't hear shit close to the speakers, it's all about the music.

i figure it might be fun to start writing about my comp making process, so join me as i put together 10 YEARS OF THE BONE ZONE: THE BEST OF MATT DOUGLAS VOLUME 2 (this is gonna be my sistine chapel)

Text reads: 10 YEARS IN THE BONE ZONE: THE BEST OF MATT DOUGLAS VOL 2

In the letters "B" "N" "E" are pictures of matt douglas playing saxophone, keys, and electric guitar. in the letter "O" is a picture of matt clasping his hands together at his waist and living a bashful look to the camera.

there is dramatic, blue colored bolts of electricity running through the word "ZONE".

fans of Peter Peter Hughes solo tunes, attn: you get to hear some of the "Three Weeks In Sicily" backstory in ep 19 of Tired soon. I've long maintained that it's the strongest songwriting of his career and I've been threatening to write more about that, getting him on record here is a real joy

I think I'll baffle before I ball, but I definitely wanna ball at least once. Can't wait to use the DPA 4061s I just snagged at the next Mountain Goats show. Gotta capture those Wurster beats in pristine clarity.

Acoustic Pressure Equalizers. Modify the frequency pattern of omnidirectional mics to be a bit more directional at the mid-high ends. The ones below were signed by Dan Healy, the living God of live sound, which is very apt - as they would perfectly suit utilizing the DPA 406x in the Healy config.
