There was a little thing a while back where Starbucks in Japan set up this campaign where each prefecture would have a regional frappucino using something identifying to that location, which was meant to encourage tourism to smaller or less well known areas

Exactly. The whole point of the Golden ending is to try to express that Inaba is figuring out how to survive and even (improbably) thrive as time goes on, making itself maybe more of a rustic tourism spot. It highlights a big push in Japan for domestic tourism to smaller cities/towns

They make it a point that the big deal in town is the Amagi Inn. That’s a core characteristic of the town and the feeling the devs were trying to capture. Despite the “wow anime Highschool simulator” reputation, Inaba is far from an idealized Japanese small town setting

It's not as in the forefront but the 'small town rumor' aspect is specifically what gives the Midnight Channel its power. In a bigger town or even city with more going on, people would be less prone and sensitive to the thoughts of their provincial neighbors.

Like Inaba has the benefit of not being too far from Okina city such that 3 teenagers on their mopeds can get there in an afternoon and back by evening, it's got connection to a larger metro hub but otherwise I didn't get the sense that Inaba had a lot going for it otherwise

They come up with this whole 'Well we'll just sell our local good through Junes' but that whole thing is still going to kill the town. Though, from my own travels, I don't really think Junes is killing Inaba as much as hastening its death. But the downward spiral is clearly already in play

My thinking is some of the more esoteric techniques like Sampled Feedback Streaming will be used and optimized to stretch VRAM limits out more, and the software side of things like frame gen and raytracing will also get tweaked over time to be more performant

Timeline wise, Cai has the most direct path to the Heroic Games. He shows up basically day-of and has his goals set up in the same few minutes. It's super snappy whereas the other characters are sort of coming with a lot more baggage.

As an aside, Look Outside also has an understanding of certain feelings you get from living in an apartment complex, the closeness but also distance you feel to neighbors (for good or ill) and how a space so closed in can feel huge and claustrophobic simultaneously

FW has a considerably bigger budget so you deal with a lot of unique stuff, the only stuff that's mandatory similar are certain events that are literally shared across routes. Each FW route takes place on the same core calendar, so if two characters have the same match, they both fight it

There are tons of unique levels in FW, especially in the early parts. Also how you interact with the overworld map is distinct to each character, and they follow very distinct story beats that are unique to each route. 3Houses has the issue where even the story beats are just different flavors

Fortune's Weave is set up around 4 distinct paths. They're structurally distinct in a lot of ways that keeps them feeling fresh compared to 3Houses. The issues of doing a completionist run of 3Houses are definitely addressed in Fortune's Weave (to what degree will depend on your taste)

Yes. Maybe the best units can only be obtained if certain party members die on specific chapters or one character specifically beats another or the like. I’m actually a fan of the anti-completionist idea where doing too much can be directly detrimental to a best ending

As with everything else: most conservative politics is the politics of aesthetics. The basic byline is “I’m not racist/sexist/transphobic/homophobic/xenophobic when im horny”. Everything boils down to the snap judgements made about whether something’s surface qualities appeal to their aesthetic
