Thai Y-series make alternative futures visible and thinkable. We can also help cultivate them responsibly, and with care, making the world more liveable for everyone. #ThaiBL #ThaiGL #Yseries @evacyli.bsky.social

In this age of AI, researchers should be mindful of (1) the potential harm caused by AI, deepfake, and online disinformation by conducting reflexive studies that uphold empathy and care, and (2) how our research might be used or misused, particularly in more problematic or harmful contexts.

Is the Western-origin term “queerbaiting” a fair way to judge Thai BL and GL series? What if, instead, we look at them through the lens of a “queer fantasy economy”? 🏳️‍🌈 Full text: journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/... #ThaiBL #ThaiGL #Yseries #SeriesY #Queerbaiting @evacyli.bsky.social

Stepping beyond the visual and into a vibrant auditory journey, we will discover how soundscapes shape our experience of Hong Kong through cinema, Canto-pop, audio description, and more. Our engaging speakers will map the city’s symphony and reveal how sound connects people, places, and communities.
