The nice thing about uninstalling this (their preceding software, Rewind) today was that it cleared up a good 150 GB of storage I didn't realize it was using! Good riddance. 🚮

Nice write-up by @joshwcomeau.com in his latest newsletter where he takes a look at some of the struggles AI still have with CSS, including what looks like a fairly simple example that it simply can't handle, as well as the benefits of deep knowledge. www.joshwcomeau.com/email/black-...

I slept for seven hours last night instead of my usual four and somehow was in a much better mood than usual today! How totally unexpected and inexplicable!

In retrospect, maybe the site with content in as many as 22 languages, Paragraphs nested five levels deep, and the use of Paragraphs Library wasn't the best place for me to start learning decoupled #Drupal. 🫠

In a GitHub ticket viewed by WIRED, Lavingia also suggested abandoning Drupal, a content management system (CMS) that the VA uses for publishing updates and information about the agency and the services it provides on VA facility websites. “I think we should consider removing Drupal as part of our workflow, and all content should just live in the codebase,” he wrote.

Watching a webinar about the creation of the new Lady Gaga website, and they mentioned that they had to do work to gather all the content and metadata to represent her discography. I hadn't really thought about that there's probably not a standardized way for an artist to maintain that. 🤔

18F, the federal government’s technology shop, was demolished by Musk’s team shortly after midnight. It was a cost-recoverable org, charging agencies for their expertise, using a consulting model. Its cost to government was negligible, its benefits huge. My team there once saved DoD $500 billion.

No, and if he wants to play it six times in a row like at his Juneteenth concert last year, that's fine by me.

Most of the official communications out of the WordPress project lately are of the kind I might expect from, say, a 13-year-old forum administrator...not a platform powering 40% of the web's content management systems. And yet.

The joys of running a website made almost entirely of user-generated content: dealing with users who join and immediately post a ton of spam. (It's really adding up in Google AdSense revenue, though! Too bad that will likely get flagged as invalid traffic before it gets paid out.)

Tried setting up my new .music domain for @crownnote.com and it's...the most ridiculously convoluted process ever? And then you get to the end of the process and there seems to be no way to adjust nameservers. Fun.
