My recommended premise: It's time to play the music It's time to light the lights It's time to meet the Muppets on the Muppet Show tonight It's time to put on makeup It's time to dress up right It's time to raise the curtain on the Muppet Show tonight

Growing up in middle America as a brown Muslim, life sure got harder. My neighbor changed her 2-year-old son's name from Muhammad out of fear.

We've got a Muslim man running the most multicultural city in the world and making space for all the people in it. That's what cultural victory over fundamentalism looks like, it's a shame that there's a part of the population that couldn't identify a cultural victory if it slapped them in the face.

In the early days of Twitter, before retweets were standardized as part of the platform, you would just copy someone else's words and put "RT" in front of them. And sometimes, you'd put text before it as your own words. Then Twitter introduced RTs and QRTs

Perhaps apocryphal, but I have heard that "Snakes on a Plane" was supposed to be a working title and they were planning to change it, but Jackson had only signed on because it was called Snakes on a Plane.

In case you still haven't caught on. The explosions are intentional but not in the way you think. They're getting huge government contracts, spending one tenth of it making a trash firework, then they'll go back to the well end take more taxpayer money. This is not a new scam. Space X does this too

Especially considering Duncan and Robinson are maybe the two most underrated big men in history (insofar as a guy regarded as a Top 10 player can be underrated). But, like, again, he does all that and also can score from anywhere.

That's technically true, but he wasn't named Shaggy until after the cartoon. Also his name is Orville and Shaggy's name is Norville, so there's something there.

I had previously ridden the bus in St. Louis, but only because my car had been stolen and I needed a reliable way to get to work. Riding the bus felt like a punishment.

I had a similar experience in Chicago. Twice in ten years I tried to get a bus and it was so delayed, I gave up and got a bike. Then last summer I got an internship at CTA and it completely unlocked bus travel for me. Now I take buses in every city. I took a bus to a Pacers game in Indianapolis.

Well, that's more purely episodic (i.e. a new story every week) than serialized (i.e. a single running narrative), but yes. I liked that they did some of that episodic "Ally McBeal for capes" stuff but they could have leaned more into that. Episodic first, serialized second.

Just finished rewatching She-Hulk: Attorney at Law and my only complaint remains that it should have been 13 episodes and should have been more of a direct sitcom with serialized elements.

It wasn't just the media. Republicans erased the distinction and rewrote it themselves. But yes, it's amazing that she said "half are good people, half are deplorable racists" and a lot of them said "for the record, I'm deplorable, I'm one of the racists"

I read the book two years ago, then listened to the audiobook last month and watched the movie last week. It's a great audiobook, but I really regretted having listened to it so close to watching the movie because I felt like I was comparing the two.
