A $3 @mta.info subway fare and some good Q train timing can buy you one hell of a view of the July 4th fireworks and the Brooklyn Bridge light show! Huge shoutout to the train operator for slow rolling over the Manhattan Bridge and the conductor for announcing it.

My small rural hometown also put a side walk in about 4 years ago and it absolutely revolutionized the civics of the entire place. Literally all anyone talks about it how much most accessible and enjoyable it made things for everyone. This type of shit rules.

Few minutes later several police vehicles sped the other way down 2nd. Unclear if it was the same vehicles as before, but no car this time, looked a little like looney tunes when they run back and forth and the chasers get confused and run the wrong way not realizing the chasee is gone

Every time people cite construction as a reason for small businesses closing in Uptown, I think about how the Minneapolis City Council funded a $900,000 construction hardship program that Mayor Frey did not implement. This would have been support for small businesses in Uptown.

Especially as someone who’s happily single and not trying overly hard to change that, having built in community with your closest friends has a ton of positive benefits. Building more studios/1-bedroom still brings down costs for larger, “family-sized” housing That said, I also want to advocate for multi bedroom units not just for families, but for us weirdos who just like living with friends even in our 30s in this era of otherwise growing isolation
