SIGNAL BOOST! @zirconst.bsky.social is looking for someone who can do good, original PSX/PS2-like sound design. If that’s you, reach out to him! :-)

Facebook post from Andrew Aversa:

I have a well-paying sound design (SFX) project I'm looking for a partner on, but the requirements are very specific. I'm creating sound effects in the style of late-era PSX and early PS2 games such as Final Fantasy X / Final Fantasy Tactics, as well as modern retro-styled games like Minecraft Dungeons. Think *heavy* use of noise manipulation, synthesis, and melodic writing to create all kinds of glitters, chirps, slashes, explosions, etc. without using ANY FOLEY whatsoever. Yes, everything must be created WHOLLY from synthesis!

If you have experience doing this, please reach out to me: aaversa@gmail.com I *don't* need to see or hear an entire portfolio or generalized demo reel. I *only* need to hear exact specific demos of sound effects in this style that you have synthesized from scratch. Huge bonus points if you can briefly tell me about your process / what tools you used (X synth, Y grain shifter, Z reverb) so I can get an understanding of your experience level.

Lastly, I'm *not* talking about 8-bit style SFX which are pretty different aesthetically. If you're not sure what I'm talking about, head over to the site in the comments and you'll hear what I mean.

p.s. This is likely a $10k+ project

Hadrosaurus Software - Enigma Heart DEMO OUT NOW! @hadrosaurus.net · 18/07/2025

Subtlety? What's that? Beats me; I don't do subtext! 🏳️‍🌈 --- ➡️ Ever wished Zelda II were (even more) gay? Wishlist Enigma Heart! www.hadrosaurus.net/enigma-heart/ store.steampowered.com/app/2986980/...

A screenshot of Enigma Heart. The player is in The Purple Labrys, a central location in the game. The wall is adorned with banners bearing the purple labrys crest. One picture frame in particular contains a large, hard-to-miss lesbian pride flag.

Screenshot of Enigma Heart. The scene is in Zalia's room in The Purple Labrys. Zalia (identified as question marks in her dialogue box because we don't know her name yet) is looking at Esme, who's sitting beside her bed in a chair. Zalia says: "I... Um. No. My first and only memory is waking up here, looking up into your..."

Zalia is looking straight ahead, silent, but blushing profusely.

Turns out, FPGAs are a viable path to having ASIC functionality without an ASIC price tag. Sentinel 65X wouldn't exist without FPGA technology. Who *cares* what the silicon molecules in the chip look like, what matters is *it works*.

When you say a thing to the effect of "it's not a real computer because FPGA" I immediately lose interest in your opinions. That's just asinine. That's like saying "it's not a real computer because it uses a PLA". We use the chips that are available.

Finally started the process of repurposing my wife's old desktop case (HP 45L). Gutted the og mobo & cooling rad (HP w/ their use of AMD motherboards with Intel LGA cooling mounts🤦🏻‍♀️), otherwise everything else is in tact. New: - Taichi X370 - Ryzen 7 5800X - 64GB DDR4 - Radeon 5700XT - 2x 1TB NVMe

Photo of an HP Omen 45L case laying on a desk, with the glass side panel off, showing the components listed being installed. All of the cables are disconnected and it shows the build is still progressing.
