A fascinating programme: Torke’s kinetic energy, Tarrodi’s evocative natural world, and the dark lyricism and compressed drama of Rachmaninov’s Third. Juxtaposition is itself music communication: it changes how we listen. And context takes us evenfurther — towards why the music matters.
