What is the actual threat affecting women in sports? Sexual assault. A 2016 USA Today investigation found that at least 368 young gymnasts reported being victims of sexual abuse over the past 20 years. 21% of women and girls globally have experienced sexual abuse in sports.

Meanwhile this trans-panic is actually harming cis-women in sports, subjecting them to ridicule, false accusations, and invasive medical examinations. At the 2020 Olympics, six African women runners were removed from their events due to their naturally occurring testosterone levels and appearance.

Trans people make up about 1-2% of the United States population, less than 0.002% of US college athletes, and only 0.001% of recent Olympians. Trans women's participation in women’s sports is not new either. Decades of research and precedent support both inclusion and fairness in sports.

I bought a xteink x4pro and love it. Most of the ereaders are too big and there's the Kindle ecosystem I want to leave. This fits in your pocket, runs open-source software with room for thousands of books. I'm reading more than I ever have and have gotten away from the doom scrolling on my phone.

I wanted to read Whalefall before the movie comes out in Oct. It's pretty damn good. Thalassophobia with Daddy issues, with a detailed "Planet Earth" style lesson in underwater sea life and sperm whales. 4 out of 5 severed thumbs up

Happy Anniversary to weird horror author, K. Ungeheuer and the lovely Inge! The two met at the start of 1929 and married on Aug 3 that year. This photo was taken in '33. Ungeheuer loved it because, due to the long exposure of the shot, it appears as if Inge has three arms.
