Audiobook Month continues, and so does my journey as a narrator, an actor, and performer... I'm now a member of SAG-AFTRA. 💜 I had to dig through the archives for some pics from many years ago, to tell past me -- the aspiring singer/actress who never thought I'd get close to anything like this -

Gentle reminder for actors: If you're upset about AI replacing you, so are writers, artists, musicians, sound designers, devs & more. Maybe consider how they feel seeing actors gladly work projects with the AI art, writing, etc that has impacted them. Believe it or not we're all in this together. 🖤✨

Seeing fake art (I mean all arts - music writing designing voicing etc.) invade my feed all the time whether its someone using it for "fun"?, or news that artists I follow use it for whatever reason, or someone saying for the hundredth time that I'll lose my job soon if I don't use it...

Hey, I said no to ACX I didn't need a KDP one to come in to use my EBOOKS in your stupid virtual voice program. Still a hard no, Amazon. Nice try.

000

Krys Janae @krysjanae.bsky.social · 03/04/2025

You'd think with Amazon trying to take my voice and Meta stealing my books, I'd quit. Nope. 👊

010

Krys Janae @krysjanae.bsky.social · 03/04/2025

I was invited to Amazon's "virtual voice replica"... Wtf. Yeah, no. As a narrator, how insulting to have a company that was essentially my start, begin to work against me and my colleagues.

Maybe it's the new hype around Silent Hill f, or the prior popularity of Silent Hill 2 remake, or maybe other fans of the franchise and Akira Yamaoka and Mary-Elizabeth McGlynn... But what a thrill to see this one continue to climb.

Today is a good day to stop being a complete stain by making fun of people, voice actors/narrators for example, for the way they look. I was bullied, picked on all through grade school, into college and beyond by family, friends, strangers, people on the internet. Belittled and degraded.

Thinking about a new story. Creative work is a loop. Once you get to the end of a project, you find yourself back in the beginning of the next project, with the same steps ahead of you. But it’s also a spiral, you have learned a lot, there are new thoughts, you are evolving, on a journey somewhere.
