Do we understand that during a genocide in which we’ve seen e.g. soldiers repeatedly firing machine guns at unarmed civilians collecting bags of flower, that saying bland-sounding things like “Well Israel has a right to defend itself, actually” is condoning violence on a vast, appalling scale?
