One of the most passive-aggressive copy and design I've seen recently is by Loom: no secondary action, no way "back", nothing, just the very blank and dull grey background and the button which takes me to "See upgrade options". Either respect your free users or don't offer a free tier at all.

There are no back, close or skip buttons, only a passive-aggressive statement saying that my subscription has been downgraded, I've lost access to certain features and that my Workspace capacity has been reduced. The background is dull grey, the text is grey as well, only the CTA button is colored.
