🧵 Trump continues to lie that he'll send $5000 to every adult if Republicans retain control of Congress after the midterms. To be clear, this would cost over a $trillion, & has no chance of happening. But of course he makes this false promise so he can blame Democrats when it doesn't happen. He's

Notice how the headline frames Cuba as the potential lawbreaker: a ship is “intercepted” while “smuggling” oil into the country. What the headline obscures is that the U.S. is the one violating international law by imposing an oil blockade on Cuba and hijacking oil shipments bound for the island.

Gee whiz, what a missed opportunity for this graphic. It should put the right-leaning justices on the right-hand side of the image so it can say "The six on the right...".

A year ago, @propublica.org told you immigration agents had detained more than 170 U.S. citizens. We’ve updated our count, and we’ve got all the receipts. The tally: At least 506 citizens detained. Sometimes held at gunpoint, handcuffed, or even deported. projects.propublica.org/american-cit...

A month before the midterms, health care and gas costs tie as voters' top affordability worries. A quarter say they are "very worried" about affording each, ahead of food, utilities and housing. More in our new Health Tracking Poll: on.kff.org/4zgJv6z

Chart shows that Democrats hold a nearly 2-to-1 advantage over Republicans on handling the cost of health care.

Trump destroyed an actual international treaty that the US & other nations had with Iran to keep their nuclear ambitions in check. He did this because he hates Obama-- & diplomacy-- & is a complete idiot. Now the GOP is all lying to all of us to try to make us forget the depth & cost of their folly.

If you have a chance to visit California's Monterey Aquarium, I definitely recommend it. The displays are wonderful & I especially loved seeing otters up close. There was even a marriage proposal by the otter habitat-- can't top than that! Forgive the photo dump. It's been too long for commentary.

Savannah Sparrow found the spotlight. #Birds #SparrowSunday #ECK #StunDay

A wee Savannah Sparrow standing on a mottled grey and slightly reddish rock in front of a similar but much larger rock. Most of the photo is in shadow, but there is a patch of bright sunlight highlighting the sparrow and a bit of the rock it is standing in. The bird is facing forward with its head turned toward its left. Its face and breast are streaky brown and pale. Its belly is white. Its beak is orange.
