Fynn is a hero and a villain wrapped up nicely in a tall blond package. Writing him is almost as much fun as drawing him. #art #oc #characterdesign

A character sheet for my original character Fynn Volkov. Expressions at the top, and a lineup of him as an adult, teen, and child at the bottom.

For the expression section, two are glaring at each other, as if they are different characters. One says "You make it so easy, boy. It's no wonder that girl manipulates you with no more than a sad look in her eye." The other replies "That 'girl' is my wife."

Text to the side reads: Fynn hasn't gone through as much visual development as Lazuli, but his *character* development has been astronomical. I'm so excited to watch him suffer.

Toonish illustrations of Fynn and Lazuli, with her in his lap and grinning, and another with Fynn using magenta lightning magic, followed underfoot by his dachshunds.

Text reads: His last name, Volkov, is the Russian name "wolf," mirroring Lazuli's. He's incredibly sentimental about Laz, his mom, and his dogs. His devotion is often misguided though.
His dogs are named Heckyl and Jeckyl, by the way. He named them as a kid when he was first learning to write.

Text reads: I've always been very interested in pre-colonial Irish culture and fashion. Lazuli's dress is modeled after the "Leine" - a long tunic or dress made from fine linen and dyed bright yellow using saffron.

Lazuli's final design for the comic. Her adult, ten, and child versions on top with some expressions below.
Text reads: My style has changed as much as Lazuli herself has. It still carries some aspects over, but has solidified more and more.
Her name, Felcu, means "Wolf." I derived it from the Irish term for a wolf-dog, "Faoil Cú," since she is not entirely wild.

“Stasis” is a portrait painted by the artist Zara Alfonso, and is the first piece in her series about invisible illness. the 'clubs' they mentioned are a thing that just does NOT exist anymore. I honestly think that's the biggest hole like, clubs, or lj comms, or single-interest forums just do not exist. Today you toss fanart/discussion onto an open sea and pray other fans will see it and engage, and if not, too bad
