Kris Boswell @krisboswell.bsky.social · 14/10/2026I’ve interviewed so many people over the years, and Roger Moore really was one of the nicest. He was here for some Stockholm Water Prize event and he ended up wanting to chat about why I had moved to Sweden for longer than the actual interview. Charming and incredibly personable human being. 140

Kris Boswell @krisboswell.bsky.social · 02/07/2026For radio it’s more music than news currently I think, things like Euroradio, the sharing of classical concerts for the classical channels, and the various collaborative evenings with dance music on ‘youth music’ channels and stuff like that. 110
Kris Boswell @krisboswell.bsky.social · 02/07/2026A lot every day. Perhaps more by TV broadcasters rather than radio atm, but the news exchange is big, and growing. They are also expanding it to digital news, sharing web articles and content too. 110
Kris Boswell @krisboswell.bsky.social · 02/07/2026Definitely not as much, rights issues disappear with full membership, and you also don’t have as much access to the whole organisation, workshops, lawyers, other projects. You become much more part of the “gang” than just with associate. Definitely political, but not necessarily ‘ESC-political’. 000
Kris Boswell @krisboswell.bsky.social · 02/07/2026Yeah, one of the first things they announced was that they are taking part in News Exchange. I think there is a lot of concern among PS-broadcasters about funding cuts, weakening political support etc, so this is also about consolidating and trying to widen cooperation and ‘strength in numbers’. 000
Kris Boswell @krisboswell.bsky.social · 02/07/2026Yes, the ESC participation is probably one of the highest profile by-products of EBU membership, but things like the News Exchange and other EBU projects will probably actually have more of an impact on the Canadian public broadcaster and its audience. 210
Kris Boswell @krisboswell.bsky.social · 02/07/2026Interesting, but I think far too much weight is put on joining the contest, rather than the other things that CBC gets out of EBU membership. News content, deeper collaboration with other public service broadcasters at a time when their legitimacy is being questioned by many, and defunded in the US. 220

Kris Boswell @krisboswell.bsky.social · 04/04/2026One of the very few things I miss about the UK are hot cross buns. So happy a few bakeries in Stockholm have started making them. Had such cravings during the week. (Yes I’ve tried making them myself, for several years, they always ended up pretty shit). Nothing beats a toasted HCB and a mug of tea. 000
