My German mother who doesn’t really speak English well enough to understand the lyrics loved this album start to finish, which I found very funny at the time.

You may already know this but Django was an important inspiration to Iommi because both had serious permanent hand injuries.

1. I don’t there is a legal aspect to this at all. 2. I don’t think you necessarily have to be born in England to be considered English. I’m pretty sure Boris Johnson is English.

I’m guessing they like the idea of all the books being scanned and made into a searchable digital archive as a side effect. Hopefully this will be made available to students and scholars for free as part of the deal?

I get that it’s polite and respectful to use someone’s chosen name. But don’t you think we should be actively rude to fascists? The reason to do it is that it’s a slap in the face, not because their “real name” is somehow more correct.

I grew up in rural Germany and when I was a teenager it felt like the middle of fucking nowhere. When I was in my 20s I went on a road trip in the US and understood that nowhere in the Blue Banana is truly rural…

No idea what the second sentence is meant to mean. Is this what they think she is saying but they commented doesn’t agree with it?

Mr Emrick @kris-emrick.bsky.social · 27/07/2026
I think the comment is implying that she is writing a negative review because she’s actually bitter she didn’t get to work on the script. That’s the “game” she’s giving away.

Am I missing something? In the UK it seems to be about the same in 1980 as in 2014, and lower during most of the 80s, as it is decreasing throughout the Thatcher era.

Unless this “honesty” involves the recognition that immigrants are *not* the root cause of the UK’s problems *but* actually a part of the solution to them, this will be completely pointless. I cannot stress this enough. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

Solar gain can absolutely make a modern flat warmer on the inside than the outside especially if it has large windows that don’t open very much. It’s like a parked car!
