who do we have to fund to get a Flash-type editor for web interactivity again. i think the biggest issue with interactive web content these days is that it's just harder to make. Haxe and Godot can both export for HTML5 but it's way harder to make something in that compared to what Flash let you do

Up until just a couple weeks ago we had a variety of software used for decoding data from NOAAPort LDM feeds running on a cluster in our data center for 20 years. Maybe not the oldest by any stretch but damn if it didn’t last a long time. Small set of C and Perl routines

The normalisation of monetisation is so upsetting to me, especially since we can directly compare to how it was 20-15 years ago You didn’t need a shop in Quake 3 bc there were countless amazing maps and skins made by the people. Quake Champions is a walled garden of monetisation. As Diablo 4 vs D2.

This is sad to see. LD is probably single-handedly responsible for my ability to work quickly. Never really got good at designing games through it, but it (and its community) were invaluable for getting better at programming. I miss hanging out in their IRC
