They’re also right that there’s a threshold of added items where spiritually it’s no longer a grilled cheese, it’s just a sandwich. It’s a fallacy of the beard sitch imo where just because adding a thing or two doesn’t make it not a grilled cheese, at some pt it does cease to be a “grilled cheese”.

They’re correct in that if someone said to me “I made a grilled cheese for lunch” I would immediately assume precisely what they are describing. Any additions need to get added to the title of the sandwich imo (“I made grilled cheese with bacon for lunch.”)
